You're right, if you mean it won't get you anywhere with them in the meaningful long term relationship sense. But it will get you laid!
If there is a guy I notice at a club/bar/whatever, it doesn't really matter if he buys me a drink, I'll want to leave with him anyway. If I didn't notice him in the first place and I don't really care whether or not I get to know him, buying me a drink usually won't change that.
i don't know why but this post really has an fnord-type sound/feel to it, anybody else agree?
