    Default Vegas: Round 2

Im going back to vegas the 8th through the 15th. I was there in august but I was more concerned with getting shit faced and going to clubs so I managed not to play a single hand of poker. This time around I actually plan on playing quite a bit (hopefully) so Im looking for where the softest rooms to play are. Will probably be playing mostly 1-2nl.

i only played at the MGM when i was there but the 1/2 games were super soft. i assume all the 1/2 games in vegas are pretty soft though.

I love Bally's. Big plus: the poke room is right in the middle of the casino instead of tucked away in a corner, so that it draws more fishes who think "Oh hey: I can play that instead of roulette/blackjack/etc!" instead of only people that come to the casino specifically to play poker.

Ballys is sweet.... BEEEVVVVAAAGGGEESS!! But it has a busier/noisier environment. MGM and Venetian are always good choices, and Venetian has tons of tables to choose from. Caesar's is also one of my favs. But like bode said, any 1-2 game is going to be soft.

Might have to just try all them since were there for a week. Hopefully I run alot more sick than I did today. -$475 in half hour at the 1-2...

I went twice in 2009, once in June and once in November, totaling 6 weeks. The softest room is Excalibur, closely followed by Luxor.

Never been, but the more I hear about Vegas, the more I want to experience it myself.

all 1/2 will be absurdly soft. If you have the bankroll I'd play 2/5 though, its basically as soft as 1/2 and you don't get as rakefucked.

I found the wynn to have pretty nitty/bad games, I liked the venetian poker room a lot and found their games to be pretty good. Never felt like waiting for a table at bellagio, but hear those games aren't great. Caesar's games are pretty good, similar to Venetian.

whats the rake like there? The standard here is 10% up to $4 and usually a $1 drop for the bad beat.

10% to 4 most everywhere, but in the seedy casinos like imperial its higher, and ironically those places typically spread the lowest stakes so you get double fucked

Any 1-2 game is going to be soft out there, but I agree with Renton, I played at the Wynn one time and the game was pretty nitty, but for 1/2 you could buy in for $500 so that was kind of cool. Bellagio was kind of the same story...

Bally's and Flamingo have always been good to me out there.

Did you guys notice any certain times that were better to play than others?

any 1/2 will be soft, but there are definitely some that are softer than others. rooms that essentially only spread 1/2 will be the softest. i havent played a ton of 1/2, but the ballys 1/2 was ridiculously soft whereas the venetian was soft, but nowhere near as bad. it is also the only play alexos has ever won live.

and at ballys it is possible to get a drink for just about every hand you played. i think that would be a fun prob bet to have this summer.
