    Default Visuals

I am experiencing them right now.

    It is pretty righteous.

What do you see when you close your eyes? Can you explain it?
  3. #3
Ah fuck it, don't waste your time explaining it now. Enjoy them. Tell me tomorrow.

Or the day after tomorrow if you're experiencing visuals as an aura before a migraine. hopefully not!

When I closed my eyes it got fucking crazy. I enjoyed the visuals when the lights were on way more. Textures were fucking nuts. Like the slight texture of the paint on the wall... then the textured ceiling paint (you know weird bumpy/lumpy paint) was out of this world. Those ones are really hard to explain though. They were the same as these bushes. The bushes were the first visuals I had. Errrr.. no.. I was in this club, and my friend who I ate them with, he was talking, and his face started rapidly vibrating. That's when they started to hit-- ok but back to the bushes. We were sitting in his car, and I was looking at these bushes in the distance and they just started to morph.. to grow in this strange organic way-- but they were also sort of melting. Sometimes they would reset to what I imagine was what they really looked like. I don't remember too much of the conversation we had, but one thing I remember is somehow talking about Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. I had the revelation that if Willy Wonka really existed, he'd be a fucking pedo. Like, people watch that movie with their kids, and they think it is fun and whatnot, they like the character of WW, but imagine if that shit was real. Pedo city, imo.

Oh and another cool visual was this jacket I have that was hanging up. I was just bugging out on the paint when I got home and I still had the light on. Then I looked at my jacket... it has a sort of splatter/camo random shape pattern going on. The darker splatter bits started to float around and change shape, but the rest of the jacket stayed the same. Also, colors in general were ssssssssuper vivid, I'm guessing that my pupils were dilated like crazy.

But ya, when I closed my eyes I had no reference point, so the visuals were just these incredibly complex 3-D animated patterns. Also as I lay there in the dark, I started to feel like different people-- that was weird. And for whatever reason I thought of the Kenny Rogers song "Just Dropped In." One of the lines in the song goes something like, "I watched myself crawling out as I was crawling in." I experienced that. I think my brain was melting at that point.

p.s. I've heard a lot of people (including my friend I took them with) say they don't get visuals from mushrooms. Man do I feel bad for them.

I think it also depends pretty hugely what mushrooms you're taking. in all the smartshops where I live the different kinds of truffles have different ratings for visuals, body high, and something else that I forgot

    ah, that makes sense.

Another weird thing. People always say they taste bad. They say they dip them in peanut butter or otherwise mask their taste. Umm... they taste like mushrooms. Most stoners just don't like the taste of mushrooms I guess?

They're not that gross but who just sits there eating dried mushrooms? Best way I've had em' is almost powdered up and put in chocolate. on a pizza works too.

I've had some unbelievably horrible tasting shrooms.

well, they do grow on shit. So I'm guessing that when they taste like shit, it is because you literally are eating shit from them not being properly cleaned. This also probably explains why a lot of people throw up when they eat mushrooms.

Boost, you're not as dull as I first thought.

I dunno about shrooms, but the truffles that I had (distinction being they grow under the ground and never see the light of day) didn't taste especially nice - but they were also like dried and packed and stuff, I've got no idea if they taste better fresh. But like jfc at the end of the day you're about to trip balls, chewing something mildly unpleasant is such a small price to pay

ha, well ya, I mean it's not like mushrooms were necessary to facilitate the revelation. Just something that came to me while on them, and I thought it was kinda humorous.

There was one point when we were randomly walking that I realized how awesome it is to exist at this very intersection of time and space. That was a pretty awesome(in the true sense of the word) thought to have.

Again today; this time out of the urban area, and in the wilderness during the day.

Twilight in the canyons while experiencing visuals is crazy.

More of you should consume psychoactive drugs.

yeah, some of the best times of my life. craziest visuals i've experienced (in no order):

    - Tripping hard at the Blue Man Group show in Vegas. The sensory overload is already crazy enough when seeing it sober.
    - 2 hits of acid while my friend is driving 60 mph on the highway. Everything was in slow motion and speeding up, at one point we were going over 9000 mph I think. When I closed my eyes, I could see some weird overlay that almost outlined everything I would see with eyes open, except in colors even beyond our visual spectrum (which doesn't make sense, but drugs are fun).
    - Went for a hike one summer with a good friend, ended up hitting us really hard as we were resting near a cliffs edge. I was laying down and watching the clouds morph into the craziest patterns ever. To make it even crazier, there was a storm forming over us and we watched the black clouds roll in and battle, slaughtering and completely overtaking all of the white puffy bastards. Also, birds were flying overhead and I could zoom in and fly with them, feeling the breeze from their wings.
    - Closing my eyes and listening to the album The Fragile by NIN in its entirety. My god is that album ever terrifyingly beautiful.
    - Again 2 hits (but a different time) of the finest lysergic acid diethylamide i've ever had and smoking 2 joints of blueberry. This was by far the weirdest experience of my entire life, but I completely lost my sense of self, full on ego death. I became this weird brown "ball of energy" just floating around. The walls were made of puzzle pieces and the edges were changing through every color imaginable. I felt as if I was floating around the room, finally into the puzzle wall and through space. I don't remember a whole lot but when I snapped back to reality, I had the strongest sense of peace and contentment ever.

It's been years since I've tripped, been wanting to give er a go again soon.

Also, I wonder how crazy this sounds to those who have never tried any kind of psychedelic?

Had an awesome experience in Amsterdam. Walking along the street about 2 hrs in to some mushies, and the was a paving slab missing on the street. I looked down into it and it was like an looking into q vortex of space. I could see millions of stars spinning around forever with purple electric lines of light whipping around and lashing at the bigger stars. Felt like I was staring down there for an hour or so but was less than a few seconds as I was holding hands with a girl who yanked my arm as she stepped ahead of me at which point it disappeared.

Cool trip reports GMML, thanks for sharing. As I was coming down we were driving back through the twisty canyon roads at dusk, that was really cool. My friend was driving relatively slow, but it felt so fast. And ya, colors are just nuts, maybe it's because the pupils dilate so much, but all the colors are so intense. The sunset and the onset of twilight in the canyon was quite the experience.

I haven't done them alone, maybe I'll give it a shot sometime, but I feel like the experience is so much better when you have a good friend with you to converse with. Also seeing someone else deal is reassuring and a sort of anchor. The trail we followed criss crossed this fast moving creek several times with no bridges to assist in crossing. Sometimes we worked together to find a good path of stepping stones that we could use to hop across, and sometimes we went took our own routes and met on the other side.

I still feel kinda bad for him as he still doesn't see any visuals. He just gets a body high, a bit drowsy, and gets the giggles. I get those except not drowsy and with visuals. I wonder if it is a dosage issue, or if the psilocybin just interacts with his brain differently. I want to avoid the "more is better" way of thinking, but I am curious to experiment with larger doses. So far we just split an 8th each time.

However, I think I'm going to give it some time. I have read that you start to get diminishing effects from frequent use, and 10-15 times a year max seems to be recommended. We intended to make it out to Joshua Tree National Park, but got a late start and just headed to a more local NP. Supposedly Joshua Tree is amazing in the spring with the desert bloom, which is a few months away. So maybe I'll hold off until then.

p.s again I found the taste to be not unpleasant at all. These ones were a bit funkier than the previous ones, and same as last time my friend thought they were absolutely disgusting. I thought they tasted like mushrooms... *shrug*

Def try to keep your adventures spaced out (uh, as in time). As some who's taken large quantities of acid and shrooms (usually in tea form) I can confirm that you lose quite a bit by doing them too soon. Remember that every time you trip a part you you changes.

I haven't tripped in about 20yrs but I still get crazy flashbacks, mostly visual. At the bar around Halloween this year my wife was talking to me and using her hands a lot. I started seeing mad trails off her hands and eventually had to grab them and stop her. Within minutes a friend walked in wearing a raver costume with glowsticks and shit all over him. My wife just looked at me and started laughing. I laughed my ass off for a minute and walked outside for a smoke. Of course the raver followed me out. He stands right in front of me and starts twirling these fucking glowsticks on 2 ft long strings. It was seriously funny but I finally had to make him stop. Meanwhile my wife is watching all this and laughing her ass off because she knows what's happening. This was the longest flashback I've ever had, maybe a half hour or so.

I think it was led zeppelins the song remains the same, which I've watch many times while tripping. If you haven't seen it I suggest you do but wait until you do shooms again to watch it for the first time.

On a side note, the only psychedelic I've done recently was DMT. I'd suggest it to anyone who digs shrooms. There's a thread about it somewhere here.

    Have fun.

ya, I only did them again so soon because my friend had a bad trip last time. He hadn't eaten much that day, and it was at night and they first started to kick in a clubby type of bar. I had a good time, but he wanted to do them again with a little more preparation.

Speaking of which, I was reading erowid, and while skimming through some of the mushroom content I found some advice that I thought was good. It pretty much used traveling as a metaphor and the step that stood out the most to me was "packing your bags." And what they meant by packing, was to read/watch/listen to some thought provoking/interesting/trippy/whatever books/movies/podcasts in the days leading up to your trip. So you're kinda preemptively guiding your trip. My friend took more stock in this than I since I had a perfectly fine trip last time. He got a bunch of podcasts from howstuffworks.com. We listened to these in the car on the drive out of the city. Even if you aren't going to consume psychedelics, I recommend these podcasts. Very cool stuff, esp the history ones that delve into subjects that are only lightly touched upon in your average high school and even college level curriculum.

As for the rest of the metaphor, from which the packing your bags advice came from, it was pretty lame. It advised you to pretty much stay at home. Fuck that. That seems like possibly the worst plan. I ended up at home for the remainder of my trip the first time, and it wasn't awful, but I'm glad I didn't spend the entirety of the trip in a complete safe and confined place. I'm pretty sure the clubby bar was one of the worst places possible, and out in nature is one of the best places possible.
