    I tell my mom "hey dude'

    edit: btw just remembered my equal rights feminist mom giving me a shpeal(sp?) when I was young, <10, about how adding 'ette' to the end of any word to make it feminine is demeaning for woman and shouldn't be done.

    My laptop is named "The Dude" (BL, obv). So I'm logging in one day in the lab. Kid from asia (china maybe I don't know) comes over to have me proof a paragraph as I'm the only native.

    Foreign Kid looks at my start-up screen
    FK: Ah, I see people say this, "dude" what does it mean
    Me: Ummm, everything
    <FK, stares blankly>
    FK: I looked it up and it means dandy or yo, but it still doesn't make sense to me
    Me: I don't really know what dandy or yo means
    FK: They're GRE words
    <Me, stares blankly>
    Me: Have you heard of UrbanDictionary.com?

    This was my answer when I read the question... funny that it's already here.

    This also sparked the desire to call everything good, excellent.
    So you click their picture and then you get their money?

    When I read the title of the thread, I thought of two movies: TMNT and Bill & Ted. Then I opened th thread and they were the first two mentioned. I think there's something to it.
