I was trying to watch the news to maybe hear about oh I dunono...unimportant stuff like the G8 conference, taxes, AIDS, TB outbreaks. But all I get is people bitching about Paris Hilton for at least 3 hours straight - I'm not exaggerating.

And on top of all that, the news freaked out for at least 30 mintes while I was watching when Nicole Richie answered Letterman's question about possible jailtime with an embarassed little half-laugh.

This all disgusts me. It makes me hate someone, but I'm not sure who. Maybe the news, or the general public...i dunno.

I agree, too much focus on anna nicole's death, paris going to jail, jolie adopting lil poor kids, ect. However this is pretty important, not as important as the news makes it seem but still...

My sister was locked up for armed robbery. She wasnt even on the scene, she took no part in it, but she was with the people earlier in the day and then later. Cops had her in a room interogating her for 8+ hours without any food or drink. She "confessed." I think it was her telling me that she was locked up with a woman who got caught stealing a <$1 comb. They had to do their time, and most people would agree they didnt truly deserve it. Now this rich, white, famous-for-nothing ,blond whore gets locked up and the next day gets out. For a "rash?"

I think my biggest problem with the way the media is handling it is that they are simply focusing on the wrong thing. They are reporting it like a tabloid instead of centering their reports on the underlying social issues at hand.
