So maybe it's relatively common knowledge that vitamin B12 supplements should be taken in this situation? They sound like the same type of parents who would let their child die of disease because they distrusted antibiotics or vaccines.

Five years is too long

They're not malicious, just ill-informed and dumb. So is pretty much everybody else. They happen to be so in a particular way at a particular time where the result really sucks. They need help, not torture

Yeah I agree that they weren't malicious and I never said I supported them going to prison. There are some crummy people out there that do need to be locked up (and we surely disagree on numbers here) but this isn't a good example of that.

Still, ignoring a doctor's orders in regards to a serious illness of a baby/minor is pretty severely in the wrong IMO. Again, not really sure how I feel about this yet.
