    It is just a myth to make people consume more, by giving them the impression that "there is little time to live. go ahead enjoy more, buy more, eat more" etc... a way to decrease the effect of global economical crisis. fuck jokers...

    It's definitely not a myth to make people consume more, that's crazy. How could the Mayans of 5000 years ago predict that we'd be living in a consumer culture?!

    I refuse to believe that it will end because if I did and I were right, I would not be able to be smug about it. Yet if I deny it, I can celebrate my correctness by laughing at all the suckers when it fails to cease.

    Also, for those who do actually believe in the whole 2012 "oh noes mayan calandar endz!", etc. The gregorian calendar ends on the 31st December every year.

    Does the world end? No.

    What happens? We start a new calendar.

    Hm, and not only that but if something tragic did happen in 2012 that could cause humanity to cease, the world has still not ended.
