I have been running different iterations of Win 7 since initial beta. I loaded on the Win 7 64bit Ultimate RTM bits when they were released to MSDN users about a month ago. Previously I ran Vista 64 Enterprise for over a year, I really didn't experience alot of the issues that others did. Most of my issues were related to running 64bit vs. 32bit.
My take on Win 7. It is fairly solid, not perfect though. I have loaded several older printer drivers and such without issue. I have again run into the 64bit issue with a few items, but am just running a couple of different 32bit VMs to run those apps/tools I need. The things that they did much better was the UAC is still there but much better. The networking is much easier to understand and configure for the laymen. The interface is much much cleaner and streamlined. I still havent had the time to really dig into the XP mode stuff yet, but hopefully will in the next 30 days.
I am running HEM with no issues on the 64bit version. If you can put your hands on a license for 30 bucks then I think it would be well worth it. I think they have done some things for usability very well in this release, and under the covers it is very solid.
