Personally, I use ZoneAlarm Security suite (anti-virus/anti-spyware/software firewall) plus a physical firewall (router), have Windows XP set to auto update, switched to Firefox as a browser and have IM security set on highest in the software firewall so that it can't receive files. All I can think of right now.
