    Default wtf canucks...

They don't look good tonight, they have lost 3 straight.

Are we even going to make the playoffs?

    Discuss...

the canucks probably wont make it into the playoffs. I feel bad for Luongo, he's amazing, but the team just has zero depth up front. The shouldve made a big move to get some more scoring at the trading deadline, but they didn't

The good thing about it is that it should cause a lot of people to drop their spots on the seasons tickets waiting list. I've been waiting forever ...

LOL you wish. You know what the renual % was last time they missed the playoffs? 95%! It'll take a few years of consistent losing for that to happen.

I think this team is built for next year though with guys like edler raymond shannon etc.. plus nasland and morrison should resign for a lot cheaper opening up some room for nonis to get a legit top 6 forward. Oh yeah and some guy named roberto luongo.

I do think we could still make the playoffs though if we play like we did in February plus get Morrison back asap. (eternal optimist obviously)

I'm a leaf fan, I even have the Raycroft 'on the bench' hat. I'll be the first to admit that the team this year sucks, so don't bother helping.

My second favorite team are the nucks. Sad to hear they suck too.

What's not to like? Besides when your home team is currently shitting the bed and probably gonna miss the playoffs despite having a wall of a goaltender?

I have tickets for the last game of the season against Calgary. I seriously hope we aren't locked out of the playoffs by then. Should be a crazy game if it means something.

If we are out of the playoffs by then, I will buy your tickets for $20 :P

I get to go to that game too, hooray!

I also have tickets for the April 1 Colorado game. Hopefully the playoff race is in full force at that point and it's an awesome game?

    Go Jets go!!!

Ok, stfu and leave me alone.

If Vancouver was a little deeper they wouldn't have to keep taking all the good Moose players from us (eg. Bourdon, Pyatt, Kesler, Burrows, Edler, etc. etc.)

So im a little bitter about the Jets.

    Habs and Leafs still suck.

    Im out.

Ok so I was at the game last night, definitely a great game everybody except nasland played pretty well. Tootoo is an tool and deserves to get his ass kicked. I am a big bieksa fan.

We will make the playoffs and I'm willing to bet anyone who doesn't agree with me.

Probably will...but Nashville just beat Calgary in OT! Another effin' 3 point game.
  32. #32
I really think they need to do something about that. Maybe 1 point for ot win 2 points for regulation win. Why you get a point for loosing is beyond me.

Its because teams werent trying to win in overtime.
They were just sitting back and protecting the point.
    What they need to do.
Is fire that piece of shit Gary Betman and put a Canadian in charge of the league.
No offence to any other countries, but an american in charge of the NHL is retarded. Just like a Canadian running the NFL would be retarded.

AND FOR THE LOVE OF GOD THEY SHOULD ENCOURAGE FIGHTING, NOT TRY TO GET RID OF IT.
  34. #34
I think it's really dumb that some games are worth three points and the rest worth two. They should make the games that don't go to overtime worth three points if they want to award a point to an overtime loser.

you'd be betting on the canucks I assume?

I think we have the best chance against detroit of any of the top 3. They really only looked good at the start of the season. I would definitely consider it depending on what kind of injuries we both have by the playoffs.

Vancouver for some reason always does really well against Detroit in the playoffs.

Detroit would be the best team for us to face first round. Next would probably be Minny.

Detroit would not crush us. They will most likely be going out first round this year, unless they play Nashville or Minny.
  44. #44
    Ohhh baby so clutch...

Cloutiers actually played really well, kinda surprising.

Calgary winning was kinda unfortunate, they do have a tough remaining schedule though.

I'm predicting 6 out of 8 points on this road trip.

couldn't agree more, he's one of the dirtiest players in the league if not the dirtiest.
  52. #52
Lol @ Pronger is a goon.

Im not laughing at you for saying it.
Im laughing at how much of a pussy league it is now that he could be considered a goon.
  53. #53
You have obviously never seen him play live by making a comment like that. I will however not hold it against you. I do agree that there is definitely a pussy aspect to this league but pronger would be a goon in any era.

I was kinda surprised they suspended him but definitely not against him.

I don't know. I love the fighting, I love it when people stand up for their team. I love it when people finish their checks.

I hate knee on knee hits, I hate hits that lead with elbows to the head, I hate it when people hit the numbers from 3 feet off the boards. I don't know, I dont think the league is more "pussy" when it tries to protect its players from things they can't defend themselves from.
  55. #55
A goon to me isnt a Dirty player.
    Its a fighter.
Probert was a goon (although he did some dirty shit too..lol).
Ulf Samuleson was a dirty cheap shotter, and i dont like them either.
Thank Betman for the cheaps shots, because the fucking instigator rule is killing off the tough guy.
Now any little pussy can do what ever he wants and no one can do anything about it.
Back in the day you had to pay the piper when you did something cheap.

I'm surprised no one bumped this to bitch about that last game. My god even if they did have a chance at the playoffs up to it things would have ended ugly.

It was still actually kind of a fun game to be at. Even though the fights and huge hits are awesome it's cool to see such respect from both sides while a 7-1 game would normally have been super embarrassing. Iginla got cheers from the whole Vancouver fan base for scoring his 50th just in time in the season. And Linden got a really good send off from the fans and players of both teams.

I was at the game and the Linden ovations were very moving. I appreciated the fact that he got respect from most of the Flames players, too.

The most annoying part of the game was that there were four Flames fans sitting in front of me visiting from Calgary. I had to listen to them gloat and cheer 7 times ...

He's such a class act and he's exactly the same in person as he is on the ice. I will definitely be at the game when his jersey goes up.

Well we're out of the playoffs, but there is still lots to talk about!

    Goodbye Nonis.

I am not sure if I am happy or sad to see him go.
On the one hand, he made the trade of the century by getting Luongo here. You cant blame him for the shitty season. We had a lot of injuries.

On the other hand, he couldn't get us a proven goal scorer after three years, and he did fuck all at the trading deadline three years in a row.
In addition, he allowed Linden to be scratched for what, 23 games?

I wouldn't be surprised to see Alain get canned next.

So, who's Nonis's replacement gonna be?

I will bet money that it will be Burke. Coming back to Vancouver (where he'll end up upon retirement anyway) has gotta be more appealing than going to Toronto.
