Default Zelda: Twilight Princess Wii version

Beat the game yesterday. And what a game it was.

I usually play first person shooters, but after reading things like what Rilla did I decided to pick this one up, and I'm glad I did.

I bought the Prima game guide. Like I said, I don't play a lot of these games, so while I understand where they are going with the puzzles, I just don't have the patience to sit down and figure them out myself. I played it for the story and the sword fighting.

For a Wii game the graphics were good (it was originally designed for the GameCube). The gameplay was excellent and the story was superb.

It is not a quick game to beat. I collected all heart pieces, bugs, upgrades and poe souls and it took 53ish hours to complete.

I would recommend this game to everyone.

Best game ever. Well, of recent ever, anyway.

I got it ~2 months ago and put in about 30 hours the first week I got it. Then I had a test or something and quit playing and havent played it since. It's a kickass game though and I'm sure once I start playing again I won't stop until I finish it. I'm at Snowpeak Ruins now and have only had to cheat once. I tried for like an hour on that damn puzzle where you have to get the 2 guard statues to jump onto the right platform. Finally I broke down and went online for how to do it. Right before the end I'll probably use a walkthrough to find all the heart pieces, poes, upgrades, etc. that I didn't find myself.

If you're a fan of the Zelda series or RPGs in general I'd get this game. It makes excellent use of the Wii remote especially considering the game was originally made for a different platform. The graffics won't play you away, but again, it was originally made for gamecube. Also, I would've liked to see them make better use of the Wii's capabilities and do voice overs for the characters in the Wii version, but I'm not complaining too loudly. I've always maintained that an excellent storyline and game play make a game, not all the other "cool' stuff.

Snowpeak ruins is insanely frustrating. Every monster ices you and those stupid tower things that spew ice breath. They're the most annoying monsters in the Cave of Ordeals. HATE all ice monsters.

The game took me 45 hours to beat and I managed to get 18 of 20 possible hearts. Crazy fun game.

I think it took me somwhere along the lines of 45-50 hours to beat without a guide.

Don't try to find the poe's unless you're doing it to finish all aspects of the game. The rewards is good, but not great.

get 20 poes. Poes do one thing real nice, they mark the little secret places which house orange rupees and heart pieces.

I only found one silver rupee though, that was the coolest.

    ????

It was in some random level of the cave of ordeals, had to dig it out as a wolf. With my senses on, I thought it was blue but BAM 200 effing rupeeeees.

If Empire doesn't send me my cash out today, I'll be firing Zelda up tonight. Messed around with it for a bit yesterday just to get the hang of it, can't wait to get some sword action in.

on the way up to snowpeak ruins i got stuck at on of the walls of snow. i saw the reek fish scent trail going up the wall but couldn't figure how the hell to get up there. finally after about 30 minutes of running around it finally dawned on me to just run into the damn thing and bam! the snow came tumbling down. the only reason i thought of it was because at some point earlier i got stuck and the same solution was to just run into the wall.

Another pointer for those who are going to play this, know how to properly z-target.

I was under the assumption that if you were doing something like firing an arrow, you had to hold the B button, aim at the screen and let go to fire. NOT SO. Tap the B button to bring out the bow, hold Z to target the enemy and tap B to shoot his ass. Fuck did I ever feel stupid when I figured that out.

This also applies to the clawshot and double clawshot and is necessary to beat a certain boss.
