idk wuf, I think you're stretching... kids often try to join in when older people are reminiscing by saying "ya, I think I remember that too!" The event they were talking about was when he was a baby, he got the flu and threw up on a road trip. I mean, a fucking 3 year old knows what a deer is. The only time the "wait, what is this completely standard and mundane thing from the pre-apoc world that I've never seen before?" thing with a kid works is if the apocalyptic event took place at least 5 years ago. See The Road and the can of coke scene for reference. This just absolute cannot work if the apocalyptic event took place less than a year ago.

Another thing I've noticed that this show just completely ignores... people who have lost loved ones to the zombie hordes need to be either shell shocked or turned into bad ass zombie killing machines. Everyone is just super "meh" about the zombies... no one is taking out their rage on these slow moving undead piniatas. What's up with T-Dog's people? The chinaman? Can we get some Lost style (I mean if they are going to lift everything else from Lost..) flashbacks that show us what went down with each group member when shit hit the fan? How have none of the supporting cast been like "yo, I gotta go in search of my family/friends!"? You know why? Because the writers are shit and these people only exist as supporting characters.
