Default $100 Private Freeroll at Bodog Nov 1

Bodog has setup a freeroll for us Nov 1. We want to make this a regular thing once a month or so.

Stay tuned for more info on how to sign up for the tournament.

    Here are the initial details:
Bodog is excited to team up with FTR to offer its members some exciting new promotions in the coming months.

First things first. Here’s the statement from the founder of Bodog, Calvin Ayre, in regards to the recent US law with respect to online gaming.

It will likely take months to fully understand what, if any, ramifications there are from this new law. Our customers may take comfort in knowing that Bodog.com is structured in such a way that we’re well situated to adapt to any changes in any legal environment. We are poised to continue our spectacular growth in the online gaming and digital entertainment space and if anything, the pending legislation has validated our broad-based digital entertainment model and our decision to stay private. We see the future as very positive for Bodog.com.

To start everything off, Bodog and FTR are teaming up for a private freeroll exclusive to FTR members. Here are the details:

    Title: FTR Private NOV

Date and Time: November 1st 10pm EST

    Prize Pool: $100

Requirement: Be a member of the FTR forum

If you have not opened an account with Bodog, here are some answers to questions that you may have:

Q: What Poker Network is Bodog Part of?

A: Bodog uses its own proprietary software that was developed in house. We released a new interface earlier this year which has seen many improvements and upgrades taken from players’ feedback.

Q: What type of deposit bonus does Bodog offer?

A: Bodog is unique in that it offers its 10% bonuses upfront and on all deposits! Whether it’s your first deposit or you are reloading your account, Bodog will automatically add another 10% that you can use right away.

Q: What are the transaction fees?

    A: There are none, anytime.

Q: What if I have a question, or need help?

A: We have the best customer service in the industry. Our customer service agents are North American born, English speaking and available 24/7. Our goal is to respond to your emails in 15 minutes and phone calls are answered within 2 rings.

So how this will work is any FTR member can enroll and play in the Freeroll.
However, you must log in to our Chat Room to get the password! Log in to the FTR Chat Room starting 2 hours prior to the event, and type "/motd" - this will provide the "message of the day" and there you will find the password!

Did you understand that? It's very simple to get the password:
    1) Log in to the Chat Room starting 2 hours prior to the event.
    2) type in /motd once in the Chat Room

Come hang out in the FTR Chat Room and play against fellow FTR'ers!!

Something happened that it reset itself for tonight too. The password is the same as last night(guessing at it's finest). If you don't know it, I'll be in the chat room, just ask. We've already got more players than last night, the "original" match.

    Default Last night's touney

Just a word of warning -last night the tourney went on for ages. Two reasons :

    a) one was a chinaman (ping something or another) who must have been on the slowest connection on the planet. He went to virtually time-out on every call or usually fold - about 10 secs per hand)

    b) someone who had a lot of chips got disconnected. Bodog waited 4 minutes the first hand, then 2 minutes than 1 minute. But then when you thought it would just set the guy to autofold, it allowed him to timeout about 15secs per hand.)

It was like watching grass grow. Net result, I finished 6th in about 3 hours. You think I would be unhappy to finish out of the money - on the contrary, it was a relief to get it over with - the last hour and half was the most boring and tedious I have ever spent playing poker. I won't be playing tonight - sooner pay my dentist overtime to pull all my teeth out.

    cheers

    rifle

PS If you are in the management here and have any influence with Team Bodog, feel free to point out the deficiencies of their software to them.

    Default Re: Last night's touney

The free roll wasn’t moved, just duplicated. The tournament ran twice (a little bonus for our players). We're not sure why this happened but extra free rolls are a good thing.

3+ hours is a long time for a 30 person tournament. We're looking into things, hopefully we can make some changes for the next one.

The results are below. Congrats to RJ7080 and DnvrBroncos!

We do want to have them be a regular thing but monthly might be too often. I'll check with Richard about the timing of the next one.
