Web Server Problems - WCOOP Freeroll

As you all have noticed, the password was not sent in time for the WCOOP Freeroll. Unfortunately, this was due to problems with our web server making the forum inaccessible for the last 15 minutes.

We apologise wholeheartedly. We will do our best to get this tournament re-arranged as quickly as possible. If this is possible, entries will not be re-opened - those who are currently eligible will remain as the only ones eligible.

Once again, apologies for the inconvenience and please understand this was a matter out of our control.

As much as I am not happy along with e1 else waiting for the tourney

Have to say in the FIRST place TY for the work you do FTR/Pascal

And I guess we all have encountered things out of our control - things DO HAPPEN.

Maybe just maybe the server could not cope with all the one post wonders logging on to get the password. The game only needed 19 players to run. Surely FTR could muster up that number of genuine members without encouraging hundreds of guys who have no intention of joining and were only interested in getting the password. I know Pokerstars encourage the passwords being made available but plenty of other forums were able to run their games with sensible numbers.

It was pretty obvious; since you send password only 5 minutes before the amount of traffic to the forum would be HUGE and server can't handle that volume. Bad strategy FTR...

We release it any earlier and it'll have 10,000 entries and it'll be awful value for our members. This problem has never happened before and we'll be looking at the cause ASAP. If we had even suspected the server could not handle the traffic, we obviously would have arranged this differently.

You should only let people who registered a month before the tourney in. That would be more fair.

You have 5 posts in 3 years you have been a member. I know people who have been registered for 3 days who have contributed more strategy than you've done, and yet you wouldn't let them play? I wonder why

First of all you are the one who doesn't want 10k people in his tourney, but sends 5 mails just to make sure he gets a ton of new members with the ticket give away and a lot of publicity for the site/forum. We all now that this is the purpose, so people would register to pokerstars with your site so you could make money.
But on the other hand you are the one stating to give the password only 5 minutes before the tournament start because you would otherwise get the 1 timers just wanting the password. You see, that does not count up.


That I don't post doesn't mean I don't read things here. First of all I registered with your site on Pokerstars so you are making money out of me. If you organised this ticket give away FOR your MEMBERS than you should make the terms of participating different. So pls don't give me bullsh*t.

19:44pm in Portugal is an hour and 15 minutes before the tournament starts, so you would have nearly an hour to post in the thread?

and i did post more then a hour before the tournament starts

looks like you will get two entries. To be a qaulified member you have to post strategy posts regularly and not wishy washy "me too" type posts.

Yes..it is logical because too much player logged to FlopTurnRiver 5 minutes before tournament beggining.

To solve this problem I suggest sending password 5.minutes before tournament but DIRECT to EMAIL ADDRESS.

Solving ANOTHER problem...how ONLY FTR players play this tournement it is not easy, but I thing the way is
telling to PokerStars not alove LATE REGISTRATION .

Sorry I see that it was supposed to be send by PM, but did the text not original say by E-mail?

I think you sent the password 1-3 mins before freeroll to them email for all members who write I would like to do AMA with some person .

lol at the ppl getting on ftr back, they could of did what pocketfives or pokernews did and just let majority of the10,000 being non members succeed in entering the freeroll giving us 1 in 556 chance but no they did the right thing earlier today regarding the pw hack and they are doing the right thing now in trying to organise it for a different date.
I know im a new poster but i like this site and think their idea regarding the pw's is the right idea so cut them a bit of slack.

no need to apologise Pascal - FTR tried to give out the password in a way that minimised the chance of 10k runners (like P5s and PN had)

WHat???? didn't realize this happened , but didn't anyone at stars /FTR learn the lessons from the SCOOP freeroll where the same thing happened and FTR members had to go looking for the password on other sites just to get into the tournament as it would be full before the official password release time.

Yes, we had to cancel it and relaunch it with new password.

There were 8 people who registered... I doubt there was any password on any site . And if i'm wrong, there goes the argument that 10k people would register if the password was released earlier .

You don't half talk rubbish. If you read through pascal's posts you'll see where the password was guessed and spread around the freeroll sites and loads of freetrollers were registereing. Pascal got stars to reset the password and restart registrations. Thats the reason for the late release of the password so that FTR's regular members get a chance to register to play in this tournament before all the "new" members can spread the password around the freetroller forums.
If you are so outraged that FTR have to go to these measures , become a reguilar member , take part , ppost stratgey and then you'll eventually get earlier access to the password.

I didn't read all but I want to be sure about one thing: I registered (posted with who I'd like to AMA) yesterday before the tournament was supposed to be started, am I eligible to get in the contest? Do I have to post again?

Hope this kind of problems disappear and now everything its 100% functionable
