okay, we have tried damn near everything we can think of here. the only conclusion we can come to is because vbulletin is outdated. we are running 3.8.2 and the latest stable version is 4.2.x.

we're in the process of upgrading to vb4, and i'm pretty sure this will eliminate this issue completely. i expect vb4 to be rolled out in the coming weeks, it's currently working on a test version minus a few plugins and without our theme applied.
