change frontpage, show some limit love

the front page seems really anti-limit holdem. this could be scaring away potential limit players who think that FTR has nothing to offer them. i don't know exactly what it should be changed to, any ideas?

We need more limit holdem articles to post off the homepage. Hyper did a great job documenting his advice for the 6-max game, if we had more limit stuff I could promote it more.

Since I don't play limit anymore, I have nothing to write about...

This site is not just about NL anymore, but also about LHE, SNGs and MTTs.

I almost think NLHE has taken a back seat to the influx of small time LHE players and Big Boy MTT players.

i've gotten a couple of requests for making a full limit guide as well. if i have time i'll make one up for the newbie. jeff started off a pretty good one, so i can pick up where he left off. or we could work together for it.

Fine, steal my thunder. I'll have you know I've asked a lot of the LHE full ring gurus to read it and critique it, yet none of them do.

Maybe you'll have better luck than me.

I just need content to post.

A lot of people coming to this website are very new to poker. So even basic write-ups will provide value to some sector of our audience. Many visitors are finding us from Google and may not even know about the poker forum yet.

Google finds my no limit stuff. If we had limit essays, or SnG/MTT articles, I could post that stuff and Google will find them. Then, people searching for tournament strategies may end up here.

So, if you guys have any write-ups that we can post off the homepage, or have ideas to write one, go for it. Submit it. We'll reward you with FTR gear or something if we like it and use it.

Limit is becoming more and more popular within FTR, we have to accept that and welcome limit players.

We have a very good limit base here, with great players such as Fnord, jeff, hyper etc. So we should make the homepage more pro-limit.

EDIT: But limit still sucks, stupid game!

I think gabe was originally just saying that the main, front-page article, positioned where it is, is about switching from LHE to NL; this and the title tag give the distinct impression that the whole site is about NL.

I don't think you need a lot of LHE content immediately -- just a different first few paragraphs.

You probably want the site links near the top, 'cause you gotta pay the bills, so how about restructuring it thus:
1. A paragraph with a basic hello and a few site links.
2. The sectuib about your switch from LHE to NL
3. A section by someone else about hisher switch from NL to LHE?

Just thinking aloud. Also am willing to contribute to a content search, or at least help organize it.
