Default Friend can't connect to FTR

A friend in Denmark has been unable to log on to FTR for about a week now. I have suggested that he clears his cache/cookies and switches browsers but he still gets "page cannot be found" errors. Any suggestions? The Danish government is having a bit of a jihad against poker at the moment but other sites seem to work OK.

it's his DNS. Get him to switch it in his network settings. Give him the numbers from your ISP's primary and secondary DNS and have him enter those.

In the past few days, we've had a couple of members in Europe (Denmark and UK) saying they can't access any part of our site (even outside of the forum).

We're still trying to figure out why this is. We haven't done anything on our end, as far as I know.

If anyone has any bit of info that might help us find out what's going on, please post here.

Also, have your friends check and see if they can access ANY gambling website via their browser. Try all the ones they can think of, i.e., pokerlistings.com, twoplustwo, etc. Let us know which ones they've tried and whether FTR is still the only one they can't access.

    ALSO...

Please let us know here who the Internet Service Provider (ISP) is of anyone (such as your friend) who cannot access our site.

So far, we have had a report that a European ISP named "Sky" is claiming that our site is blocking access to its customers. If Sky is the common ISP among all these connection problems, we know where to start investigating.

Please help us figure this out.

I've contacted our host and they said the problem should be corrected now.

Can you guys have your friends check our site and confirm that all is okay now?

Thanks X-man, they are sleeping now in Denmark, but as soon as he's back online I'll get him to check and post in this thread if he can get on.

Unbeknownst to us, the 90.x.x.x IP addresses (where you're originating from) were previously being blocked. They've now lifted the restriction.

    No hindsight for the blind.
I'm still having some occasional issues with connecting to FTR. Without saying for sure, it seems like it only happens when I've been in the Chat room for a while. I'll disconnect and not be able to access the forum, chat, or the main site for a while, anywhere from 15 minutes to a couple of hours. When I get back on everyone is still in the chat and have noticed nothing unusual.

During these stretches I can access other poker sites without any problems.

My ISP is the University of Trondheim/NTNU, Norway.

That sounds very strange. Let's try to narrow down the source of the problem before I contact our host.

    1. When did this start happening?
    2. Were you using the Chat Room much (or at all) before this started happening?
    3. Next time it happens, is there another computer you could try getting to our site from?
    4. Next time it happens, please try accessing the UK version of our site, http://www.flopturnriver.org.uk/ , and report what happens.
    5. Via the UK site (assuming you can access it when it happens), can you reach our poker forum?
    6. What browser and version are you using?

DAMN I managed to close the browser window after making a detailed reply. I'll try these things and get back to you next time I have a problem .
