Google homepage gadget?

Can't we create a gadget for google homepage (http://www.google.co.uk/ig, very easy to customize by adding and removing gadgets) that would display the newest threads?

It doesn't look like a lot of work to create one of these and it would be pretty sweet to have it on my homepage.

Does anyone else use this?

I dont think the Feedback forum gets a lot of traffic so people probably won't see this thread, a lot of people would use google home page if they knew about.
