Logout/login issues

Logging out of the FTR chatroom wipes my "View posts since last visit" results on FTR proper. Looks like the site thinks I've just logged out and logged in again when I try to return to the results. I also find that when I leave FTR after being in the chatroom, I have to manually log in when I return, and have to recheck the "Log me in automatically each visit" checkbox. Any reason why we need to log in to the chatroom when we're already logged into the site? How about just aiutomatically taking us there when we launch the app...
