Default $100nl KK vs check-minraise on flop

Villain is 21/10/1.5 and this is my first orbit at the table.

PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em, $1.00 BB (9 handed) Hand History Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: FlopTurnRiver)

    UTG+1 ($50.65)
    MP1 ($97)
    Hero ($98.50)
    MP3 ($203.05)
    CO ($36.50)
    Button ($56.85)
    SB ($60.40)
    BB ($120.90)
    UTG ($113.35)

    Preflop: Hero is MP2 with K, K.
UTG calls $1, 2 folds, Hero raises to $5, 5 folds, UTG calls $4.

    Flop: ($10.50) 2, 6, J (2 players)
UTG checks, Hero bets $9, UTG raises to $18, Hero calls $9.

    Turn: ($46.50) 3 (2 players)
    UTG checks, Hero checks.

    River: ($46.50) 3 (2 players)
UTG checks, Hero bets $29, UTG calls $29.

    Final Pot: $104.50

Against a UTG check/call so a set is possible but so are like a billion other hands like flush draws and weak jacks and TT-77 and shit. The turn check is for pot control, but by the river I'm pretty sure I'm against a jack so I value bet it. Thoughts?

It's fine. I think a set either leads this flop or c/raises you for more than a minbet, unless he's trying to induce a 3-bet, but we've all seen weirder so nothing wrong with being cautious here.

A check-raise on the flop and a check on the turn means you are winning 99% of the time here. Bet the turn and river for value.

dean is right. betting turn/river for value is good.

I sometimes check behind turn against clever opps that iv'e seen play very strong hands like this. Mostly bet turn and defo bet river for valueeee.

How much history with villain? Notes? Nothing wrong with being cautious here if villain is tricky, that's all I'm sayin.

I'd say bet the turn because you might extract a bit more out of him those times when he doesn't have the J but does have the flush draw. You extract a bit more this way, because he won't call with a busted flush draw on the river.

You can't see a river here with money behind. Signs point to this guy being retarded and at this stack depth you're pretty committed.

UTG check-calls in EP are usually PPs, but this player in particular does have a 21% vpip so it his range could be a bit wider than normal. It seems like after you get check-minraised and checked to on the turn, villain put you on AK or AQ pre and was trying to get you off a high card hand cheaply with some 88-TT or whatever, but definitely doesn't want to put much more money in the pot. Hands like AJd are possible here, and luckily you got a relative blank on the turn and river, so you could bet either street here and be fine. If you bet the turn and check the river it's fine, or vice versa. Typically I don't like to bet three streets after someone shows resistance, but in this case it really looks like you're in good shape.

    Nice hand.
