You said you weren't sure if he had the K, but you can find out by raising his ass. The problem is that as he is a short stack he might go AI with a K or with a draw (which is very unlikely given the texture of the board) of even a middle pair. But still I think that calling here sucks. It gives you as little info as does your minraise to his mini bet on turn. Still tough to play against a short stack. Any thoughts he might have had after your big PFR. Any hands he calls with you can beat/make him fold?

I don't like the 5xBB raise UTG+1 because likely the only people going to call you are those with better hands and you're always first to act. Hard to get a free card with people behind you.

Regarding the AcQc hand:

sometimes in a situation like this (depends on opp of course) I'll checkraise the flop as it sometimes freeze an opp on the turn letting you see the river for free.

Leading out on the flop here is okay too and might even be pushable if you're feeling really crazy (assuming that an A is no good but the Qs are, you've 12 outs; if both AQ are good you're looking at 15 outs).
