Default 5/5 NL Live Line check

Table has been fairly passive, and has only been open for about 30 min.

Villain seemed like a standard TAG that overvalued his hands.

Villain has about $300 and hero covers.

Hero is dealt 9s 6d in SB

2 limpers (villain in CO), Hero checks, BB checks.

    Flop: 6s 8c 9h (Pot:$20)

Hero bets $15, 2 folds, villain calls.

    Turn: 3d (Pot: $55)

    Hero bets $30, villain calls.

    River: 7s (Pot: 115)

    Hero bets $40...

Hero completes preflop, right? Okey so what do we but a TAG opponent on here? Is villian capable of raising this river because your bet is weak or will he see it as a value bet?

I have a really hard time putting a TAG on a range here actually, J10s, a horribly played set of 6's?

... Villian raises because he flopped the straight and let you bet it the whole way?

    or

...Villian folds because he had had a seven and missed his draw?

As said, it's hard to put him on a hand here because of the smooth calling, which could mean he's drawing; however, if he raises you, your stuck and probably have to fold.

or he's just a bad player caught in a call down with a 9?

Boiling it down to these two scenarios seems a bit extreme.

Though, i think a c/c line is fine, I really dont see anything that makes me fear another value bet.

Well, I looked at it as more of a blocking bet. I put the guy on a hand such as 87, hitting 2 pair on the river.

    The results are as follows:

    Villain calls, mucks J9o.
