I'm asking what they are going to do with hands like A8 if we just call preflop. I didn't specifically ask, but I'd also try to consider how many big aces (AK, AQ, etc) they will reraise with. It's a question of when/if their preflop play can provide us with any information.

You do want to consider what range they are calling with preflop, and how your hand plays against that range. The lighter they are calling, the better our hand is likely to be, but the less information we have about what they may hold. Thus I also like to consider their postflop tendencies. It they are calling with T8s, are they folding to a c-bet on a QT4 flop? What about 65s on a K63 flop? I guess I'm figuring we have minimal fold equity preflop, but wondering how much we'll have when we don't hit postflop.
