AA hand played badly or not?

Hi all,

No reads or stats against villain. New to Empire.

Was this played bad or did I make the right play. I thought about folding his turn raise for a long time. But decided against it. What do you think?

Hero raises to $1, 1 fold, MP1 calls $1, 1 fold, MP3 calls $1, 4 folds.

Hero bets $3, MP1 folds, MP3 calls $3.

Turn: ($9.35) 8 (2 players)
Hero bets $5, MP3 raises to $10, Hero calls $5.

River: ($29.35) 8 (2 players)
Hero bets $5, MP3 calls $23.75 (All-In), Hero calls $4.75.

Final Pot: $62.85

I think you performed well with the Aces until the turn came up. You raised 5BB, hopefully clearing the trash out (a good bet IMO, you can be more confident on a raggy flop). Flop is as good as you couldve expect- uncoordinated rags- lead out a pot-sized, also good, could seem like a bluff can get KJ KQ AJ etc. to call.

His turn reraise looks like he MIGHT have caught an 8 (ace-eight maybe? possibly a loose player playing 78 for the raise?). However I think the more likely scenario is a set. He calls a 5BB preflop riase, merely calls *sigh* on the flop, and MIN raises the turn (even tho this raise essentially puts him allin, he's pot-committed; he's got $9 behind with a $30, he's not laying it down). So I'd think set. If you got lucky maybe he'd have Kings (and was foolishly "slowplaying" those). Doubt it tho.

As played, I like preflop, flop, and $5 turn bet. However after the turn raise- I either fold or push allin; and more likely than not the first choice (fold).

I agree totally with what you have said and I still don't know why I called the turn bet. I think it was because I had played about 500 hands and most people at these tables were playing utter crap and being super aggro with TPNK. However I thought long and hard about the set on the turn and think laying the rockts down at this point is +EV in the long run.
