Default AA UTG vs Loose aggressive Opp

    Villain is loose.
After he re-raised me, I stalled for about 20seconds and thought about it...I thought well if i RR him back higher it gives my hand away. I also paused to make him think I am calling with a mediocre hand.

I checked the flop hoping that he would bet...only hand that beats me here is JJ so i was a little bit worried because after I raised him, he 3 bet me AI with no hesitation.

How would you guys play this hand againt a loose agg. player? Did I make mistakes? should I 3 bet PF? Lead out on the flop?

    Shallow money *yawn*

No reason to get tricky with AA against a shortstack - and you're paying off a shorstack set here anyway.

Oh - and 3x BB UTG with AA is too shallow unless you are looking to get reraised, in which case the whole point is so that you can re-hammer it I would think.

You can't protect Aces from a full buy with a sane opener. Pre-flop is fine.

You need to push this preflop. You have to protect Pocket Aces like they were your firstborn son.I slowplayed my Aces heads up tonight and got destacked by a set of Queens who got lucky as a 4-to-1 underdog.Don't let your opponent nut his pants when you can't release your hand and stack off.All you have is a pair;he can get off cheap you could lose everything you work so hard for in one moment. This is a wicked easy push.

The money is shallow and his opponent likely holds a hand that will have a very hard time catching up. It's fine.

The guy has less than $9 and it's a $25 game. You got 3-betted at preflop when you held AA. I don't even know if you can make a mistake in this situation...

Which means that he will likely call an all in push anyways.Might as well annihilate him.

Interesting...I never thought about his stack size until afterwards, i really wish he was maxed at $25

He flipped over QAos, lol...obviously he left the room faster than i could say thanks.

I was thinking PF since he RR'd me that he must have QQ or KK...so what difference does it make if all the money is in PF or post flop? unless an Ace comes down on the flop all the money is going in one way or the other...
Also, if he has QQ or JJ, and the flop is 2 5 8 rainbow, there is a better chance he will push all in Post flop then Preflop with those hands...he may fold PF and I dont win as much money.

It's the first thing I look at when sizing a pocket pair re-raise.

Played fine but one question is. Why are you sitting with less than $9 on a $25NL table.

EDIT: oops I just realized that JL had enough.

    Hero had $24.75 Bo G.

As long as the PF money is greater than 1/8 villian's stack then Hero is in great shape to call and push. Drawing for a low set isnt profiting. They may stack you but it wont be profitable in the long run for shortstacks to play like this against an AA.

Superb play sir...I always call 20% of my stack off with a gutshot draw. Excuse me while I race for my wallet.

this hand is very straight forward. A good reason why at times you dont 3 bet AA because you can get opps to like their hand far too much. I can quite easily see TT-KK or AK/AQ turned over here all but one which you beat and are a havey favourite. Let opp think his hand is good and then let him play for stacks.
