I think you should have raised on the flop. see what he is going to do. yes he can have AQ, KJ or KT or Ts2s, but the way you played it, you have no idea if it is just an AK, AJ, AT or KQ or a small PP. any of which are plausible hands. . plus his overbet makes me think less likely that he has a flush, but top pair, or 2 pair. usually these guys will bet $1-$2 in that position on the turn.

Also I have noticed when I played the $25 table, I needed to make slightly larger then 4xBB raises to play a more winning poker game. especially with a great hand as yours in early position.

do you mean bet the flop after he checks?

so what raise to $1.15? opening the pot for 4BB instead of 4.5 or 5 really won't change much.

Not betting that flop is pretty terrible. There are a lot of hands you just gave a free card to. I say bet and fold to any resistance anywhere in the hand, since a lot of hands that call PF have you beat by the flop.
My sig is too much for you to handle.

I dunno. I don't think this was played too badly.

depending on position and players in I bet anywhere between 4-6xBB at those stakes, cause the players are just so loose, so I make them pay for being loose. for some reason betting $1.25 scares more people off cause it is a $1 to call instead of less then $1.

If you bet on the flop and he gives u resistance then fold, but showing you are weak, does nothing for u here. except allow him to play as he did making u fold.

I think it's played ok too. Betting flop is ok but your hand becomes pretty trashy against an unknown if you get check/raised. You also kill odds a lot more by betting the turn since a pair + draw is around 50/50 on the flop. The turn is either a bluff or semi-bluff or a missed check/raise, so might be worth an odds-killing raise here but not a huge deal. As played, it might be worth a river min raise.

Basically I want to keep the pot small here.

A river minraise?....I think that is an awful idea.

another thought since you are already in that position on the turn, what about a bin raise and bring it 2 $5. he will call.

    3 things can happen
    1) he re-raises u and you fold only loosing $5 obviously u r beat
    2) he calls and then checks on the river allowing u to check and win the pot at showdown, posibly loosing to 2 pair
    3) he folds thinking you have the nut flush

in these scenarios u seam to risk a little less for him to reveal his hand

all two pairs were counterfeited and his hand is underrepped so top pair probably will call. it's a slim value bet...might not be worth it though.
