Default AJ UTG 122.5BB pot, What is correct play?

I did have a hand I played pretty badly (villian is 50.6/8.8/0.81 after 91 hands, but I do believe the stats were a little skewed at the time the hand took place - maybe I only had about 30 hands on him)
My read at the time was that he is a very passive player and I thought he might have AK

    $0.05/$0.1 No Limit Holdem

    Stacks:
    Hero ($10.95)
    UTG 1 ($5.60)
    MP ($7.90)
    CO ($1.85)
    BTN ($7.90)
    SB ($11.30)
    BB ($15.70)

    Pre-flop: ($0.15, 7 players) Hero is UTG
Hero raises to $0.4, 3 folds, BTN calls $0.4, 2 folds

    Flop: ($0.95, 2 players)
Hero bets $0.65, BTN calls $0.65

    Turn: ($2.25, 2 players)
Hero checks, BTN bets $2.25, Hero calls $2.25

    River: ($6.75, 2 players)
Hero bets $2.75, BTN calls $2.75

    Final Pot: $12.25

I don't know the right play here... usually I don't play AJ UTG but Renton's strategy guide suggests it.

you should fold AJo most of the time UTG in fullring games. i RARELY play KQ,AJ offsuit UTG even in 100NL or above. However, i dont mind mixing up my play occasionally while playing these hands in some certain spots.

This hand is one of the reasons I *almost always* muck AJo UTG. You hit your TP... and now what? The CB didn't fold him and you're OOP. I'm either folding or raising the Turn bet. And if I'm betting the R, it's a shove... as played at best it's a value bet w/ little to no FE.

Originally I claimed Renton's strategy "guide" suggests playing AJo UTG, but that is not true.

UTG at tight tables he says to raise 22+, AJs+, AQo+, KQs

    For pokerfan, sarbox68:
1.) How do you personally feel about that raising range?
2.) What position would you start to open raise AJo?

    1. I like it. I think 22-66 get less and less profitable to open-raise in EP as you move up in levels. At $10NL I'll open raise all PPs from any position. At $25NL, I've been dropping 22-66 UTG & UTG+1. I just like popping 'em 'cause it widens my EP raising range and lets me take pots down w/ CBets on a 33 missed set flop. Plus in EP, with villains who are only marginally paying attention, you can get credit for TT+ a lot of times -- and esp. if you hit a Kxx flop I'm like 80%+ for taking it down with a CB on my low PPs in EP.
    2) I'll start to open in 4th pos w/ AJ0. I'll also raise limpers w/ that hand starting in the same position. I'm basically looking to either buy the blinds, buy the button (position is critical w/ ATo, KTo, KJo type hands), get HU and take it down with a CB or, missing all that, not lose my ass with a second best hand.

why did you check the turn?

    Pre-flop I usually don't, but I've raised worse.

Block bet the turn + river for value.
