annoying shortie pushing and donkey between

few hands earlier i had raised, soft player (29/1.7/0 over 60) called then this shortie to his left pushed. i had AK and folded.

i woulda insta-called this time since i now figure he's likely pushing loosely, but the player between changes things. i cant call, i can only put him all in or fold.

and there really shouldn't have been any flop action. i just miscalculated how much the minraise was. no biggie.

Looks fine to me. I push the AK one as well - a bit of dead money + AK + shortstack donks = GAMBOOOOOOL.

i probably would have called the AK had the player not been between us. he was on like a 60bb stack, and i didn't want to play an all in or huge protected pot there.

i have some adjusting to do to shortstacks. i keep thinking they aren't complete retards because, well, i wasn't when i played short.

shortie had T5, donkey inbetween had AK.

You definately should have pushed that first hand.

okay, so let's say i have never played with either player, and i just sat down. a few hands in, i have AK and 100bb stack, i raise 4bb, player to my left with 100bb stack calls, player to his left with 20bb stack pushes, folded to me, i should push?

that strikes me as wrong. you didn't say that specifically, though, since the player inbetween had 60bb the first hand. i also knew nothing about the tightness of the shortie.

Yes I'd push here too. I don't really care about the tightness of the shorty because unknown shortys suck. And with his stats, the full stack guy you're really concerned about will raise with AA at the very least. Even if he doesn't reraise with anything preflop, AA is still the only hand you're a huge dog to. You're so often good against his range here and you want this short guys stack to yourself.

But it's especially right in your initial situation, because if this guy's a donkey then there's a chance he could call with AQ or even AJ. Donkeys seem to get excited in reraised pots and decide to call.

Hey wufwugy, I posted this hand somewhere else on this site but then I remembered it would be a perfect example for what I was talking about for pushing your AK hand. It's 5-max but still, the point is, if the guy's a donk, he's likely not calling behind your AK with a better hand and he might even make a bad call with his lesser hand:
