Better way to play this?

Villan is 31/7 over about 260 hands and from his betting I put him on A and wasn't sure on other card which I guess was why I was so cautious. With the river, if he pushed or bet a significant amount would I have had to call?

I'm curious what the other responses will be (aside from the invariable "Don't post in MP"), but I raise the flop-- our action is too easily killed and possibly make us 2nd best. I'm not sure I'd have the fortitude to bet or call a big bet if the board pairs or another spade comes and I don't think a set is folding.

And yes, if I'm checking the river, I'm at least calling unless the guy's a complete nit. At first I thought that a valuebet of $4 on the river was the best play, but that wouldn't give As a chance to bluff or a set to confidently bet.

He didn't post in MP. I raise flop, bet more on turn, and bet the river. Not to often you flop a flush, it'd be nice to make some money on it.

You've got to play this faster. You have the 2nd nuts, worse flushes and prob sets are paying you off, and Asx are coming along for the ride too. I raise the flop to $6, as played, bet at least $5 on the turn. As for the river, I don't hate the check b/c it gives villain a chance to bluff. Some read or post-flop aggression stat would help though. Since players at these limits are usually passive, a smallish value bet (~$7?) might be best.

Seriously, play hands like this faster.. raise the flop, bet 3/4 on the turn, then do whatever feels best on the river. I've noticed you seem to like making these little 1/5 pot bets. You won't get money in when you have the best hand if you make these. Your goal is to take stacks, not win a bit of dough with the best hand.

As played you have to bet this river for like 1/3 pot and hope opp likes his hand as you seriously underrepped the strength of your hand.

Can see what everyone is saying and pretty much agree I pussed out and have been seeing monsters under the bed the last week or so with all hands since my downswing started and it's been affecting my play in situations like this since I want to try and avoid getting stacked when I don't have the mortal nuts rather than thinking logically about peoples plays and maximizing profit when I am most likely ahead.

So yeah, seems there was a better way to play this hand and we all agree on it

That's about how passive I play the K-flush in PL Omaha against a non-donk. Gotta bet the river, there are many worse hands that will call a medium-sized bet here.

absolutely must bet river, if you were going to slowplay the flop, when did you expect to get your money in?

Yeah, have thought about this more and more, and no idea why I did what I did. The only reason I was playing that hand was to hit a flop exactly like that so it was rediculous way to play the flop I wanted to get.

I'd say the only reason I slowplayed it was to see if the A came out to ensure I was ahead or to make sure a 4th spade didn't come out to beat me but if that truely were the case then I should have hammered the river when neither happened.....all in all, even if I had a plan for this hand I totally fucked it.
