I actually had planned on getting a free card on the turn by the maneuver but when chuck11xx folded and robert just called the raise after his weak flop bet, I felt a move could be successful.

Is this a good line to take for a bluff, or could I have handled it a different way?

I think people spew a lot of chips with AK playing hands like this.

    But that's just me...

True, lucky for me this time it worked. I just saw alot of weakness in his flop bet.

Pretty easy to put him on a pair or osd. Just a question of how he's gonna play it. Not a big fan of blowing people off hands as a matter of routine.

I agree 100%, if this was routine I'd be broke.

I think you can find a call on the flop and a check/fold on the turn.
I agree this isnt the way to play AK. Because we class it as a reraise hand it seems to get treat as a licence to print money post flop and it isnt.

Not enough people can fold top pair for this to be +EV I think.
Set farming works because this doesn't.

I made a post a little while earlier about a very similar hand where I had AK and got 3 callers on a Q high flop. Anyway, as I explained in my post, this is why I tend to just check/fold a missed AK or overcards when I get 3 or more callers. You are trying to muscle villian out of this pot, and in the long run I am a firm believer that this is a very -EV play. I would just fold the flop. You have a gutshot and 2 overs that probably aren't live. In order to take the line you did, I would need a very solid and specific read. On a final note, your flop raise needs to be bigger if you really want to take it down right there. I think your fold equity with a $5 raise against 2 opponents into a $19 pot is close to zero. It's good that you are able to be aggressive, as it is key in NL. However, naked aggression or ill-timed aggression is just spewing chips.
