How Fnord plays live:
Commerce 9/18
Table is playing kinda tightish for the stakes/establishment. There is one really terrible old man on his second rack with a wallet full of Franklins. He plays over half his hands, takes them way too far and thinks trips are the nuts on the river. Another loose and kinda weird mix of passive/aggressive joined the table and is on fustration tilt after showing down a bunch of pretty good second best hands. Everyone else has a clue how to play the game with various levels of competence.
My table image is TAggy pre-flop and weak post-flop. Have been making some tight laydowns off reads and been on a 1 rack+ heater to come out ahead for the night having just shown down 2 sets. Prior to that I was cutting my losses on a cold run of cards.
Tilty open limps from MP.
I raise Ten heart Ten spade from the Button.
SB calls
BB thinks about folding, but tosses in 3 chips. He's not acting, I'm pretty sure he's weak and taking a flop.
SB & BB are friends at some level. I recognise BB as a regular, kinda-TAggy player. He probably doesn't remember me. Reads hands well. Already seen him laydown what certainly was an over-pair for a 4rth bet on the flop tonight. SB tries to play well, but isn't as good. However, SB has been very tight opening pots.
Tilty calls
4 to the flop $72 in the pot minus $3 for the rake and $1 for the jackpot.
4 heart 5 heart K club
SB bets, BB calls, Tilty folds, I call planning to raise a non-heart turn unless BB beats me into the pot.
Love it? Hate it? Indifferent?
Another hand I played funny tonight...
Young Asian guy buys in for a Franklin and a couple Jacksons, then immediatly posts. He's here to GAMB00L, W00T, W00T!!!
Old man limps UTG+1. Newcommer checks, Tilty Raises, folded to me and I 3-bet K heart K spade out of the Small Blind. Big Blind turbo-mucks, Old man refuses to fold, Newcommer still wants to gamble, tilty just calls.
4 to the flop, $117 in the pot minus the drop.
Flop is 9 heart 8 diamond 7 heart. I nearly vommit and check intending to raise any bet....
You're in a live NO LIMIT game, so it's much more important to stop just playing cards and play some fucking poker! Once you can tighten up your reads so much of the textbook gets thrown out the window.
