camping $100 NL 6-max

I had a busy day today and could only put about 45 minutes of ring game play after my MTT. I made $55, buying in for the min. $20 at 100NL tables. I go all-in with pocket pair(8 or better) or AK and call or make a small raise with solid hands. If I hit the flop really hard I may try to slowplay, but if I hit TPGK I'll push. People call me pre and post flop with extremely questionable cards, apparently it takes more than a $18 bet to push out the mid pairs of a large stack. Ive turned $100 into $900 in the past month making min buy-ins at 50NL and 100NL. I dont have 100% accurate stats but I would say I bust 30% of the time, make between $1-$20 50%, and more than double up20% of the time. Does anyone else do this on a regular basis? I don't do it because Im afraid of losing a max buy-in because I used to buy-in at the max, but I'm just more successful this way.

I'm about to start doing in at 1000 NL 6 max tables on Party, but I will probably be 4/10ths stacked to begin with, not 1/5th stacked. I am also going to try 1/5th stacked at 2000 NL 10 max on Party very soon. Hopefully itll work as easily as it did for you at 100 NL 6 max.

Golf: imo buying in for min stack makes for more luck and less poker skill and judgement but if its working for you then thats all good. My only concern is that it may limit your progression as a poker player but as a BR builder seems fine. If i were you id keep building the roll to 2K+ then start playing full buyins proper poker 100NL

Spino: i dont see the point in you doing this as your currently beating 3/6 etc why not just build the roll there then step up the lvl when your BRs high enough for a full buy-in? Unless you can make more by buyin in short at higher stakes but this is unlikely in my mind. (maybe worth experimenting and worth a try at least).. you may also be able to read the short/min stacks that little bit better after playing with one yourself.

Because at the higher stakes its the only way to move up stakes. The jumps are just so big, that when I move up in stakes I always buy in short to begin with. Then slowly add money until I am at full buy-in.

Why don't you just beat 3/6 until you have as much? Unless you're that eager to move up...

I just personally would be ticked off if I got AA when KK was out, and I was short stacked. Or hit a set vs AA...or any number of big opportunities.

I'm buyin in half stacked at the moment as a BR builder. Started with $10 at RVP and I'm still slightly under rolled. I'm gonna start buyin in for the max at 15 buyins. The reason I do it is because it limits the variance and allows me to 2 table without breaking the 10% per day rule.

I also used to leave the table when I doubled up but now if I do get big stacked in a game I keep playing in a effort to learn big stack skills. Just so I'm not missing out.

i see what u mean 3/6 to 5/10 is a big jump, odd theres no 4/8??? There is at my poker room. Also if you're gonna camp short stacked wouldnt it be far better to sit at 10 handed tables? i dunno.

If you can find a LAG table, which is very easy at 50NL and 100NL, it's hard not to double up. Lol, should've played that last hand...flopped a straight.

Lol hand 1 the guy re raises you with a flush draw? You were the BB and there was no PFR how could he think you're bluffing
