Fnord - I haven't considered 6-max as of yet, because given my tight play now, I figure it would take some time for me to adjust as I would need to for 6max play. Is it something I should really look into now or maybe wait till 25nl or so? And yeah the rake is killer imo.
MuddyWicket - Did you see how many hours I have played in those 16 days? Around 87 hours, which isn't a ton, but a good deal I would guess. Concerning the tables, I played 6 to begin with and had that -6 or so buyin downswing and since I didn't play 2nl or 5nl extensively (moved to 10nl from $5.50 SNGs) I felt it was much more prevelent that my play was bad than it was just variance. So, I did the logical thing and dropped down to 2 tables and focused more on making player based plays, and not acting so much like a robot ("I have TPTK.. It' always good!" ya know?).. It seemed to work, and I started winning again. But I wasn't putting in as many hands as I would have liked so I went back up to 4 and have settled right around there for the time being. I'll add more as soon as I understand postflop play better.
BankItDrew - I am fairly certain that my problems stem from postflop play. And it's generally not getting away from a second best hand when I'm beat. I've learned to effectively valuetown all the calling stations you can find at 10nl. I just pot every street and they think I'm lying so, it's nice. I think most of it was I was pushing marginal hands to aggressively and not striving for pot control like I should have been. I would raise to see where I stood in the hand and before I knew it I was involved for a good portion of my stack. I have just recently read and re-read "Renton's Theorem" and am attempting to apply that more towards my game, as a means to know when to play aggressive and to when to play a little more passive. The one thing I really need to work on (not saying I'm horrible at it, but I just don't understand it as well as I want to) is c-betting the flop. I do it quite often (75% of the time), but don't really understand always why I do it, which isn't good. I guess I'll have to get some HHs up for that.
