Unless you have a quality read, i'd say you're beat pretty often on the river. 4-flush, 3-straight, paired board, with him check-calling the whole way smells like slowplaying.

    but what do i know.

    I'd call it.
Some days it feels like I've been standing forever, waiting for the bank teller to return so I can cash in all these Sklansky Bucks.

Turn looks like an easy check to me.

You have a lukewarm made hand and worst case you certainly have outs. Hence, if you bet and are raised then you will have to give up equity. Also, checking behind controls the pot size allowing you to play a river with position.

Yeah. I really put myself in an akward position there.

My read was the guy didn't have the flush, but had a decent hand. I thought maybe Kx. I want'ed to try and push that out.

I was pretty tight pf at that stage, so I don't think that helped me.

My read was all wrong in the end. He pushed instantly on the river and turned TT.

I'm a limit guy at heart, so I'm not into pushing people off hands they otherwise aren't inclined to fold. However, I ought to learn to find some spots to flex some No-Limit muscle.

I tend to run the PFR + c-bet lines and otherwise bet my best hands and my worst hands to keep my post-flop decisions simple. The stuff in between gets checked, usally I fold to a bet, sometimes I call.
