I don't like the preflop, but after that it is alright.

I would have folded preflop on this. Other than that I wouldn't have gone all-in on the turn. I'd bet about half the pot and try to extract what I could out of this hand, especially with so many prospects to improve. With an open ended straight draw along with ten outs to the boat or better I see no need to push all-in here.

I had the trips. I also went all in to give him terrible odds to draw, hoping he might fold, and if not knowing I would probably win the hand anyway. He got lucky and drew out on me though and hit that damn flush.

Now as for PRE FLOP, I didn't raise because I didn't see it necessary at the time, I wanted to conserve a little more to see the flop in case I had to bail. I simply called because I knew others would fold and based on my reads I did not expect any raises, which was correct.

Would everyone agree these were the right moves? Did I just catch a bad beat when he hit the flush?

    Postflop play is ok.

Preflop play is IMO bad. Your stack is too short to be pissing chips playing speculative hands like 89o.

With 15 BB you don't have enough of a stack to chase a draw without commiting yourself to the hand (ie, you're essentially limited to pushing if you flop OESD) and you can find a better spot with a better hand if you're trying to pair on the flop. It's best to just save chips and fold preflop - You can find a better spot to play than with 89o. Also curious, the BB folded preflop...

There are a number of ways to give him terrible odds to call. What can he be drawing to that would justify 2-1 odds by betting half the pot? He really doesn't have any good implied odds here if you put him on the flush draw since you can now fold on the river assuming he doesn't go over the top on the turn.

Considering he only has about an 8% chance to hit his miracle I'd say you caught a bad beat especially since you had a good 18 outs here.

Man that is so true! I have been thinking to myself that I have been playing a lot more loose than usual, and I think when you pointed out the fact that my stack was too low to be playing speculative hands, that just made me more clear of my problem. Thanks a lot for helping me become more aware of that. I need to conserve!
