    Default Difficult choise with AA.

The villain insta-called me all the way to the river and was playing tight.
Would u make this call?I called because i had the feeling the villain put me on AK,AK or AJ and thought i was bluffing, but what do u think?

fold. he's telling you he has you beat, if he plays tight like you say i expect to see a set here most of the time.

warning bells should be going off when he smooth calls your pot size bet on the flop and again on the turn - you need to be exercising pot control with only an overpair on that board and be looking to get to showdown cheaply.

Yeh but if he really plays tight then why would he call 6xbb bet with low pair?

I'd say at this point you're already pot comitted. Plus, your river bet was pretty weak, so if he's a solid player he'll recognize your weakness and might throw in a raise here to steal the pot. It's 10 to call for a 50 dollar pot, so you only have to be right 1 time out of 6 to be even. I say call, but then again I play 2NL.

did it occur to check raise here?
Thats a bluffer-friendly flop and also if yopu check raise that flop you will find out pretty quick how good AA is. You're also suggesting you may play for stacks here so if opp has little then he goes away fast here.

I think you either need to pay off on the river or push the turn.Betting down the whole way with only an overpair is usually either really really good or really REALLY bad.

At 25nl, I will cheerfully call a $1.50 bet with any pair if my opponent is deep stacked like yourself due to the wonderful implied odds I gain if I hit my set.

I don't see him playing a lower overpair (KK - TT) here like he did, I would expect more aggression from him on the flop and/or turn. He knows going all-in for $10 more won't push you off your made hand so he has you beat. I'm sticking with my earlier analysis and I'll give him credit for the set.

Because you are going to pay him off with one pair if he hits. I know it's AA but it's still just one pair.

I replied on that thread but i'll say it again, briliant.

AA is stronger than AK when pairing the A on the flop in the same way that making a set with a pocket pair is stronger than making a set with the flop paired, but it's still just one pair.
    A hand from yesterday:
I call a 3xBB raise with 22; 3 in the hand; flop is 2 6 9 rainbow; raiser makes a 1/2 pot bet, other folds, I call (not standard, but was experimenting with AOK counterplay, many pros and cons... more pros I think, especially in certain situations); turn J, villain makes a 1/2 pot bet, I push, hoping to utilize my donk-call-equity, villain calls; river blank, I win, villain shows AA.
Pretty uneventful, save the the comment afterwards:

Villain: Holy shit, my aces got cracked my twos
    Villain leaves the table.
In my mind: well, sort of... yes, if the money went in preflop... but afterwards...
    flop: villain: 9.2% I: 90.8%
    turn: villain: 4.5% I: 95.5%

I apologize, I think I sounded rude in my first post, but please understand and proceed with caution, it's still just one pair.

i once got hammered at a 20NL table for calling a 5bbs raise with 44.
Opp says to me: you retard wht you calling raises with 44 man. C'mon i had kings!.

Exactly my point when a four hit the flop...

Yep. I got beat AI deep into a huge tournament yesterday doing exactly that w/ AA on a borad that wasn't scary at all. I hope I learn from that one....
