    You suck

    j/k

seriously though why are you playing A8s
I play it from late position on a passive table when i think i will get a cheap draw to the flush. 80% Pot size bets are not a cheap draw.
If you hit a pair of aces you have top pair crap kicker and have to fold to any action. If you hit a pair of aces in a 5 way limped pot you are even worse off. You are easily behind to an A with a better kicker, a straight or a likely 2 pair/ set.
Assuming you are ahead there is still a flush draw out too.
I dont see a single reason to call on the flop. There are virtually no playable hands which you beat. Unless hes the type of guy who bets this all the way down to the river with 35o then you have to fold on the flop. I would fold preflop unless its an extremely passive table.
gabe: Ive dropped almost 100k in the past 35 days.

I had the draw to the nut flush. And it's a very passive table preflop.

    eh.. yes.

Raise the flop and you save yourself a world of pain.
    Heres how it should go:

    Flop comes
    he bets 4
    you raise to 12
    If he folds you win
If he raises or calls you get out with minimal loss

If you play as passivly as this regularly you would save yourself a load of $$ if you tightened up considerably preflop. At least until your postflop skills improve.

If you think about it, he did check preflop. So i think that puts him off AQ+. He have a very good hand on the river.... but you really didn't get any info on him throughout the entire hand, which makes it an easier fold.

On the other hand you played it exactly like you had a draw the entire time. He isn't value betting on the river, he's betting the pot. He could have crap and be pushing you out thinking that you had a weak hand.

I don't know, depending on my mood i am 50/50 call or fold. I would just fold, maybe later you'll get a read that he likes making plays at pots when weakness is shown.

Like I said, I was really not happy about how I played it...

    Yes, raise flop. Truly.

The flop call wasnt too bad. He bet less than half pot and there are alot of big hands that pay you off when you hit.

The turn call was far too big. You called a pot size bet for a draw you only had a 20% chance of hitting.

I probably fold that river too. It looks too likely he has a full house, straight, Ace better kicker
