Default Downswing => Hands for analysis

I found myself folding AT & AJ a lot preflop to average raises. Not sure if that's normal/good play or not. Your thoughts?

I think I had trouble laying down hands I'd raised preflop if I was reraised...how good a hand do you want to call a min (or close)-reraise preflop?

Would you have limped A3o here (tight table)?

I know I misplayed this...bet the flop? Check it down all the way? Nugi often checked when he had nothing, but would reraise just because he thought a bet smelled weak.

Only hand like this I'll post, but it happened a lot - raise preflop and either have a moderate reraise or simply have a caller. Hit TPTK, and lose to KK. Other than the preflop reraise (I'm assuming you all agree I should have folded?), anything in a similar situation to say I'm beat?

    1) I fold preflop
    2) Semibluff on the flop.
    3) Check it all the way. I too often loose these to pocket pairs if I come out betting on the flop...
    4) Fold to the reraise
    5) Limp preflop and check the turn after he smooth call.
    6) For a few very tight players I would fold to the reraise, but most often I would call and get out when I didn’t hit.
    7) Well played all the way in my opinion
    8) I usually limp with KJ since PT recently told me it’s a loosing hand for me when raising it. Flop bet seems fine.
    9) I wouldn’t raise AJs from UTG or MP. From LP I would though.
    10) I fold preflop
    11) I wouldn’t raise ATo from MP either.
    12) It seems like there was a big chance that he would call the turn bet, given the pot size and his remaining 12$, but he clearly fears the Ace, so your bet was good after all I think. Maybe bet 12 instead of all-in? Some players scare from exact stack numbers and it looks less like a bluff .
    13) Well played and good fold
    14) Perfect play
    15) Reraise preflop
    16) ok play I think, but maybe fold to his raise, not sure here.
    17) Preflop raise would be fine and I would check the turn, but ok try and good fold
    18) Fold on flop

i always lay down AT and AJ to raise, you are too easily dominated.. its fine to play it as long as your the first person to raise with it.

    1 - I don't play A3 from any position

2 - bet out on the flop - you have an OESD & 1 over - $5 should do it
if they call you on the turn check for the free card - now you have a
bluffable flush draw too - if the flush hits come at 'em with $15 or $25.
Otherwise value bet $9 or $14.

3 - no way I'm betting into that turn unless I have position and was checked to

4 - raise to $5 PFR - you have position - there's a chance he may have layed the 33 down - no real way to play against a set with pkt 33 and come out smelling too good - I wouldn't have called the raise with A9. He could have had AJ or AQ. A9 is not a good TP hand.

5 - still too many callers. With that many callers and KK on the flop, you have to suspect one of them will have that K. Your $10 bet for information was OK (I would have considered a $7 bet) - but you didn't pay attention to the information you got - check on the river and fold.

6 - OK, you got a nice hand but your out of position. A pretty nice PFR eliminates the field but one guy raises you $5 from position. If you call you are pot committed. Your opponent didn't go allin to get you out of the hand. Nor did he call you to keep you in the hand. He went in between. To me this can only mean KK or AA. In tourney play I would go allin here if I was small stack but in a ring game I would call and see if I connect on the board. If I don't connect, I'm out of that hand.

hand 6 .. after you raise and get reraised, since you have a tiny stack, you are pot committed if you call, so might as well go all in . i think i would have folded here instead.. you raised preflop in early position with AK and were reraised by late position. only 2 hands strong enough to reraise an EP raiser, even if he had QQ or JJ your still behind, and i dont like a race situation here.

    Alright.

Hand 1: I almost always raise here for a blindsteal.

Hand 2: I almost always lead out on this flop for 3 bucks. G00t chance of just winning it right there and these sorts of pots evolve into monsters sometimes.

Hand 3: I don't even bet the river on this hand. Im in the big blind, I flopped bottom pair. If I'm going to bet, it's on the flop. By the time the river comes, Im folding very few better hands and worse hands are not calling me.

Hand 4: I almost always blind steal.

Hand 5: There's not much you can do, I'd probably make a similar turn bet with a deeper stack and fold to any future action

    Hand 6: Standard for shortstack

Hand 7: Trying to sneak in a bad beat?

Hand 8: You shoulda just made your normal follow-through. Which is what it looks like.

Hand 9: Fold preflop, you have far from a large enough stack to make a call like this worth it. Obviously, you cant get away after you hit.

Hand 10: If you're going to bluff a hand, do it on the turn not the river. Turn bets give you more credit.

Hand 11: I dont think you can give up on turn without having notice a trend. Are your opponents calling you unpaired on the flop?

Hand 12: you're limping with JTs for a pair? Fold preflop. You should be playing tighter and ignoring implied odds hands.

    Hand 13: Standard.

    Hand 14: HAHAHAHA

Hand 15: You seem to be playing out of position in a lot of these pots. Again, your turn feeler bet is an AI. Suprisingly, op is a moron.

Hand 16: I dislikes QJo. Fold to the turn raise, I think it's painfully obvious he's not bluffing at you for your last 16.

    Hand 17: Standard.

Hadn 18: You're getting really aggressive with weak hands.

    Thoughts on a shortstack;

As money gets deeper, all starting hands begin to blur in value. That's why crazy LAggs like HALLINGGOL rebuy everytime they're AI. The deeper the money, the fewer mistakes they can make preflop.

With your shallow money, your only real decisions are on the flop and preflop. You should be playing at a 16VPIP and making 5 BB raises. Just always play the right hands and play them aggressively. You should also be playing with 50BB. This allows you to get stuck "AI" more frequently and with better cards while still giving you enough money behind to bluff when you need to. You should not be limping ever. Big pots from limps only come together very infrequently. And you're limping and going crazy with weak hands.

Tighten up, get your aggro on. And remember, your opponents are becoming more aware. If your action doesn't add up, they'll notice. All flop bluffs should be set up by preflop action and a board you can sell. Not just you hitting 4s into a limp pot and going buck-wild.

You'd think after all the preaching I've made about the lack of implied odds, I'd know not to play for them.

So in short: play tighter and play more aggressive when I have cards or position. Super-tight/aggro out of position. Guess that means folding AT/AJ? Prior to yesterday these made me money as hands to limp & let go hands / raise w/ position. Then again, after checking PT, I only made money on them in the blinds and late position...guess that answers that.

HAND 1:No, s00ted, in position and limpers.

HAND2: Semi bluff flop at tight table, other then that looks g00t, be patient and wait for ur spots (u already know this) .

HAND3:Bet the flop, reraise a flop raise of your bet if he is an aware player .

HAND4:Kinda UL, with your shortstack you can't really lay this down, although the reraise screams I HAVE A BADASS HAND. Oya raise preflop on the button w/ Ace (actually I kinda mix it up btwn calling and raising).

HAND5:Uhh slow down on the turn is what I would do after he calls that bet. I like the preflop raise in the BB, but with ur shortstack again ur pot stuck. Oya, hope for a Queen more on the river .

HAND6:Gotta gamble with ur short stak .

    HAND7:I <3 it.

HAND8:Preflop raise with JKos is borderline even at a tight table, I woulda bet less on the flop, if the guy is aware try a weak lead, get him to raise?

HAND9:Pot stuck with that hand and yo chips.

    HAND10:Yep, bet it heads up.

HAND 11:Pot commited, reason why I don't raise A10 preflop or play it for that matter, only better hnads are calling/raising.

I'll look at the rest later.

HAND12:Your kicker blows... Be wary in looking for pairs with that hand.

    HAND13:Looks g00t

    HAND14:That sux!

    HAND15:Me likey

HAND16:His min raise screams I hit the 2, and he's in the BB. You're pot stuck after the turn bet though (which i like the bet, don't get me wrong).

HAND 17:Cute raise, too bad he has KQ

HAND18amn ur super aggro, bet u thought u had it with that 4 on the river

You're quite agressive (too much IMO) and the campers are busting you up, pair that with some crappy luck and that = downswing. Instead of raising with like KJ, raise some s00ted connectors then wait for a big hand and then BAM! Just make sure KK and AJs are not involved

    See you on the upside!

I think it's worth a shot to try out. But you could go back to limping with these hands if it becomes apparent raising and betting is getting you no where.
