I don't think you know this. I would put AK and maybe QQ in his range. And short-stack button could have anything.

I didn't mean to sound like a prick.

You need to raise him to 2 dollars to start. This changes things a lot.

The trick to getting all in preflop with KK and it being plus EV is pretty simple. Get all in with the fewest number of raises possible. No more than 4. It needs to be Minraise (Him), Raise to 2 (You), all in (him), call (you).

The more raises go in here, the narrower your villains range then becomes, and the less EV your hand becomes.

i see. and you didnt sound like a prick.
this is why i felt so sure i was up against AA.

the min-raise by me was a stupid donk move obviously. every time i got QQ+ during this session and either raised to 4-5xbb or reraised, it was folded around to me. literally every time. not to mention i just got sucked out on in a 350bb pot where i went in with a set against AA and K9s on the flop only to have him hit a 9 high strait. i just wanted to make sure i got some action. dumb, i know.

you technically did not min-raise but ya you should've probably raised more. if you put villain on QQ+ then you're 50% vs. his range. in this spot though the button's dead money helps your situation a lot.
