This thread tilts me so hard. Judging by your comments you turned bottem set into a bluff catcher. Just fold preflop if you dont know what to do when you actually hit.

I'm sorry? I posted because I recognized that I played the hand badly and fwiw I did raise the river and normally I would lead all three streets. So you're telling me that instead of experimenting and asking about a situation where I can improve my play I should just avoid playing out of my comfort zone altogether?

oh ya fo sho

leading gets more out of a jack i think than a c/r would too. because jacks raise most turn leads but may not 3 bet a c/r.

fold preflop, bet the flop, checkraise the turn, shove the river

flop lead is bad, theres no reason not to check raise him on this texture

Do AK/AQ continue to a c/r on the flop?

id c/c or c/r flop and bet turn and river as standard - his range of hands isnt limited to AJ - and not many people will fold AK here even if you take a semi-strong looking line

I was wondering about this too. He could be saying that his steal range is likely too wide to setmine profitably, and you're not getting to steal many pots oop unless he's bad.
Lately I fold to an LP raise with baby pairs from the blinds, but only if I get less than 20:1...

Just checked HEM for 22-77 in SB and BB with steal attempt... was +EV for 5NL to 25NL, and -EV @ 50NL but I only get 25 hands there... mostly loosing due to failed resteal attempts on the flop. So my DB is simply not big enough.

If someone wants to check - you can't filter for hands and "Steal attempt from SB / BB = true", you have to create a steal situation in the main filter, then it will accept the hand filter.

OP reports no infomation about the ATS of the pfr... 15/9's can have a wide variety of steal %... which should at least in some way effect how we choose to play small pkt pairs from the BB.

I agree with dean... and would either fold or 3b small pockets to a steal

there are much better hands to have in our 3bet range than small PPs imo.

I think I check the flop here too. C/R turn and shove river.

Can't decide if I would defend my blind there against the steal or not. I probably do to a 15/9 if I've played a significant amount of hands against them.
