did u have any reads on them? what types of cards was he calling the BB? If your thinking he has aces, I probably wouldnt unless he doesnt raise with any cards pre-flop. One could have somthing like A 10 and loves his ace, and another could have top 2 pair with A5. I cant see you getting away from this hand unless you have some kind of read on them
  3. #3
Not much of a read since I was 4 tablin and hadnt been there long enough to catch anything. I had just had to go with my gut which I don't keep records on so I don't know if I'm up or down on gut reads. I was thinkin 2.3 or 55 more than aces though. Aces never really entered my mind.

This might be a fold and if you pull it off I'm impressed. Super system talks specifically about bottom set in an unraised pot with deep money. However, I REALLY REALLY REALLY want some more information on the players in this hand before making this laydown.

Oh, and no fucking way you just call here.

If you don't have PokerTracker + Playerview running while 4 tabling 100NL you're seriously costing yourself money.

    Ah my thoughts exactly.

I doubt all that much because I dont have enough NL 100 hands in my database to have info on very many players. I try to stay at the highest average pots so Im usually never at a table longer than 45 min unless its really loose and/or juicy. I was using playerview for probably 1000 hands or so and maybe its just getting used to it or whatever but I hardly used it anyway because I'd look at the number of hands used to calculate and it would be like 50 or less. Plus I'd usually just not look in the first place. I dont know I probably do need to do it always but I just wasnt using it enough for it to influence much on most decisions I made. I have a decent amount more hands now so maybe I'll bring it up again.

voted call (though it should either be raise or fold, I dont really think just calling is a good option here).

    >You have options at Table 37419 Table!.
    utahsooner calls [$52.5].
    ** Dealing Turn ** [ Ts ]
    ** Dealing River ** [ 5c ]
    utahsooner shows [ 2c, 3c ] a straight, ace to five.
    shogun4877 shows [ 2s, 3d ] a straight, ace to five.
shogun4877 wins $91.5 from the main pot with a straight, ace to five.
utahsooner wins $91.5 from the main pot with a straight, ace to five.

Woulda won with a full house. I guess if I knew they were both on straights I woulda had odds (or at least damn close) of calling for the full house conversion. Not that I'd do it anyway since u dont know if u get em both all in. Whatever I'm happy with my play.

You don't need a lot of hands. Run PokerTracker in the background importing hands from the HD every 1-5 min. Then PlayerView will put those on the screen. 100 hands is enough to at least give you something to go on. Also, by running 4 tables you'll often catch a couple fishermen on more than one table at once very quickly calling them out.

Simply knowing how many hands someone has called/raised pre-flop in the last 2-3 orbits and if they won/lost (helps estblish state of mind) can make all the difference when having to make close decisions like this.

Remember, poker is a game of information warfare!

Yeah I guess its just me be lazy more than anything. I need to take some time and just get used to using it all the time. Oh well I'm out of school in 2 weeks so I can maintain focus and get this down.

I think the BB has 23 since it was unraised and he checked it and now he's betting like crazy. Maybe 55.

I'd fold it anyhow. Sometimes you just know you're beat.

Edit: Lol, SB and BB BOTH had 23. That's pretty crazy.
Light years ahead of the competition.

Ha yeah by call I meant all in I guess because I wouldnt have just called. I just wasn't thinking about it when I did the poll.

That is about the only time I have folded trips on the flop I can remember where it hasnt been 3 suited in a row or something. Of course thats when I'm holding a pair. I'm sure I've done it in other rare rare situations when I have a great read but 99% of the time I would make that call I just wasn't feelin it with the madness of the big reraise then the rereraise on the top over of that one and had a feeling the other dude in the small blind was slowplaying something great and then when the other dude came back over the top I just folded. There are better battles to fight. It didnt help one was in the big blind and had good potential for the straight with his actions. I didnt imagine the other dude had the straight but new it was a possibility.

Does this pokerstove prog consider all the raises and reraises or what do you actually put into it exactly.

i would fold just because of the BB.
