Default How can you not put this guy on a QQ/JJ?

This guys wasn't in a lot of hands so I knew he had something good. When he checked the flop, I figured the A and/or K scared him. Then I hit my card and it went downhill from there. Was this played right?

I think I just fire away and hope someone puts be on a weak c-bet because they don't think I'd play quads/trips so fast.

Was hoping for runner runner royal or quads

A boat would be nice too.

Well, he played it clever. It's kinda impossible to fold in your spot.

But it isn't impossible to smell a rat and make it difficult for the other guy to get all the money into the center.

BTW: After this hand and a little venting you should have make a note about this flop check and slow play.

Yes, the final over-the-top push was wrong. But consider the river. Opponent makes a pot sized bet, which puts him all in. Do you fold?

As this hand was played, I would usually flat call his re-raise on the turn, and check/call the river. The flop action is suspicious but he could have QQ/JJ. However, his turn play tells you otherwise. There's three hands he is likely to have here: AA, KK, and AK. It's a question of if you prefer to take AK to the cleaners, or not go broke to AA/KK. Might even be a simple math problem to figure out which approach is correct, but it seems to me more likely that he would check behind on the flop with AA/KK than with AK.
