I thought it was very possible that he has trip Jacks and was now trying to guard against me drawing to a flush. But I also had that horrible feeling that he hit his Kings. I sucked it up, called, and he did in fact have the Kings.
Is this just a horrible call by me or should this be easier to get away from? I asked him if I had pushed even harder on the flop and went all-in if he would have called and he said he would have. So nothing I could have done besides me folding was going to save me money. I know that I got it in when I had the best of it and made him pay to catch up, but then he made me pay when he did. Is this avoidable or is this just one of those rare situations you will encounter where you have to take your beating and move on?
BTW.....the other guy that was all-in that hand showed the 8s-5s and took the main pot down.
