Default How should I have played this differently

Just after the first break of a $5+1 @ PP. I just moved to the table, so I don't know much about the player style.

Party Poker No-Limit Hold'em Tourney, Big Blind is t100 (10 handed)

    MP2 (t1526)
    Hero (t1570)
    CO (t4115)
    Button (t3335)
    SB (t3225)
    BB (t630)
    UTG (t2885)
    UTG+1 (t4070)
    UTG+2 (t1270)
    MP1 (t1600)

    Preflop: Hero is MP3 with A, T.
UTG folds, UTG+1 folds, UTG+2 calls t100, MP1 folds, MP2 calls t100, Hero calls t100, CO calls t100, Button calls t100, SB folds, BB checks.

    Flop: (t650) 9, 2, 7 (6 players)
BB checks, UTG+2 checks, MP2 checks, Hero checks, CO checks, Button checks.

    Turn: (t650) A (6 players)
BB checks, UTG+2 bets t100, MP2 calls t100, Hero raises to t300, CO folds, Button folds, BB folds, UTG+2 raises to t1170 (All-In), MP2 folds, Hero folds.

    Final Pot: t2220
    Main Pot: t1350 (t1350), won by UTG+2.
    Pot 2: t870 (t870), returned to UTG+2.

At the turn, his reraise makes me think I was behind in the hand, I just wasn't sure how behind. My guess is he had 2 pair, or perhaps a made flush. So I figure I had either 7 outs or 12, should I have taken the risk for most of my chips at this point in the tourney? Also, I think I probably should have bet the turn, both becuase my hand is strong with the nut draw and 2 overs, and to see where I stood. Thoughts?

Wasn't he giving you the pot odds to draw him out? Just call.

I agree with Iconoclastic, you have top pair, maybe he also hit his ace, and if he has two pair you have some outs to either beat him with two pair, or to hit your nut flush, in this situation i would call

    himself fucker.
Lay it down. I think the allin is screaming flush (checks the flop into a big field, weak leads the turn and pounces with an AI) so why put the rest of your stack in on a draw? Ignore the odds here (If they're there. I didn't check). Lay down your draw and outplay them later. I think you'll be better off sitting with a smallish stack and moving from there rather than giving yourself a slim chance to be a average stack in the tourny.

Whoops I think my post was misinterpreted. I meant you should have called the Turn minimum bet.

    Fold after the re-reraise.

Yes. You got no information on the turn the way it was played. If you had put a feeler bet out, it's likely he would have come over the top if he had a made flush to protect it (he didn't have the nut flush). It would then be easier to let go of your hand right then and save some chips. If he didn't have the flush already, he may have just called, but you at least would have limited your field of opponents going into the turn.

I also agree with Icono's and 500lbgorilla's last posts. A call on the turn would have given you a relatively cheap card to try to make your nut flush. If you don't and he bets on the river, you'd have to lay down your top pair and wait until you're more certain to have the better hand. Given the way it was played, however (him going over the top of your re-raise), your fold was a good one.
