Thing is, if villain has top pair he is statistically behind to AK with the nut flush draw (15 outs is more than 50% to hit by the river). Realistically, you can put villain on a range that includes TPTK, which means the ace might be a dirty out. Still, I think you are slightly better than 50% to win after the flop, and with the added folding equity a flop push is correct. Another reason for the push: it seems like villain is scared of the flush. If true, he won't pay you off after you hit (reducing the implied odds you're getting with the flop and turn calls), but might pay you off before your hand is made. This makes calling down less favorable, and pushing the flop more favorable. Last, if you play it passively like you did, fold and save yourself the river bet regardless of the pot odds because your hand isn't going to rake this pot even 1 in 6 times.
