Default I Just Pulled a Gabe

Thoughts? I've showdown one hand at the table when a guy limped KK UTG and I flopped top 2 in the BB with 74 and busted him. Other than that I've been a rock.

a little town called none of your goddamn business
I would have raised the flop, hopefully gained position on thesons, and then take a free river card when checked to on the turn.

As played, I think a raise to pot speaks much louder than a push. As a bonus, the play doesn't have to work as often to be profitable.

Pushing for an effective 150 would have to work here a very large percentage of the time to turn a profit, i think.

Heh, what's the point here when the pot is so tiny compared to your/his stack? Just raise him hard.. more effective, less needless risk?

hey bob, because you put my name in the subject ill respond!

i dont like it. the flop doesn't have any major draws on it, so its possible that the person was slowplaying a monster. if the flop was QsTh6h, i would like it more because they are less likely to call you with a hand since they werent strong enough to raise the flop.

also, the turned 9 completed the only real draw (KJ), so if you think they were drawing on the flop, you just got owned.

as played, i raise the flop, take the free card, and i would push if they checked to me on river, but value bet if i hit.

    Hate it you rascal
It's not what's inside that counts. Have you seen what's inside?
Internal organs. And they're getting uglier by the minute.

awfully weak betting going on... which usually means monster or garbage.
I can only see a few hands here... a queen, a set, J9 or KJ for a straight draw, or a lower pair that's just praying it's good.

What are you trying to represent with this bet? Trip 9s?

Qs fold unless they realize your bet rep's nothing but a semi-bluff.
KJ or a set has you beat.
    j9 or weaker pairs fold.

I just don't see what this bet accomplishes.

That said, I bet here a lot of the time. I'm with Renton. Pot it like a set that's trying to keep the flushes and str8s away.
    Check out my self-deprecation here!

Maybe it's not a good sign when your poker moves are getting names? :P (or is it?)
