Default I would hate to be villian here.

Party Poker No-Limit Hold'em, $ BB (5 handed) Hand History Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: FlopTurnRiver)

    UTG ($98.50)
    MP ($124.85)
    Button ($178.20)
    Hero ($178.15)
    BB ($94)

Preflop: Hero is SB with T, J. Hero posts a blind of $0.50.
2 folds, Button calls $1, Hero (poster) completes, BB checks.

    Flop: ($3) 9, 9, 7 (3 players)
Hero bets $2, BB folds, Button calls $2.

    Turn: ($7) 8 (2 players)
Hero checks, Button bets $6.65, Hero calls $6.65.

    River: ($20.30) 2 (2 players)
Hero checks, Button bets $8.98, Hero calls $168.50 (All-In), Button calls $159.52.

    Final Pot: $357.30

What hands do you think call this check push? I was hoping villian had full house or Ace high flush.

    Results in white below:
Hero has Tc Jc (straight flush, jack high).
Button has 6c 5c (straight flush, nine high).
    Outcome: Hero wins $357.30.

If you played this in one of those bad beat jackpots, you would have made some good money

Anyone who calls that check-raise with the ace of clubs needs to move to the play money tables before he goes broke.

I dont really like your play, you bet flop, and then check/call the turn and check/push the river, that shows a lot of strength and I would be surprised to see a lone Ac calling here very often. A full house is definitely calling here but you have no way of knowing what he could have since you played the turn so passively. If I check the turn then Im going to be betting that river wthout a read on villain that makes me essentially positive he will the river when checked to.

I was gonna nominate this for the badbeat hall of fame... but is this really a bad beat... more like variance from hell.
Success is how high you bounce after hitting bottom.

Andy-akb I was about 75% sure villian was going to bet the river when checked too. His river aggression was very high (over 50%) plus I thought my line might look like a bluff. He value bet the river which from a post flop manaic tells me that he wanted a call. I could have reraised to $20 or $25 but I figured there was at least a 33% chance he would call the push for a $50 profit on average.

Why the sudden passivity once you hit the turn?

And once you check/call the turn, certainly, you would bet the river? Why no bet on the river? Just a check-SUPER RAISE?

    himself fucker.
if you bet into the turn, more hands will pay you off. Maybe not for your stack, but you're winning a hell of a lot more from the A since he'd have to be very weak to call the river check-push.
