Default I'm sorry about this post (KK vs... AA) but.. pls advise.

Fifth hand at table. No reads whatsoever.

    Players:
    Maazive_81 (EUR 42,86 in seat 1)

TeddaSBG (EUR 79,44 in seat 4)
    LC82 (EUR 7,10 in seat 5)
stolkorp (EUR 25,00 in seat 6)
Silentz (EUR 49,00 in seat 8)

    Dealer: Maazive_81
    Small Blind: 5-Times (0,25)
    Big Blind: xen (0,50)

Silentz was dealt: Kd - Kh

    TeddaSBG Call (0,50)
    LC82 Call (0,50)
    stolkorp Call (0,50)
    Silentz Raise (2,00)
    Maazive_81 Fold
    5-Times Fold
    xen Raise (4,00)
    TeddaSBG Fold
    LC82 Fold
    stolkorp Fold
    Silentz Raise (15,00)
    xen Raise (25,00)

**** OKAY HOLD IT RIGHT THERE. At this point I think... fuck this might be aces... but then... do I really fold my Cowboys here? Is that overwhelmingly the best decision? Or do i just.............

    Silentz All-In (32,00)
    xen Call (19,50)

    Flop Td - 4s - Ks
    Turn Td - 4s - Ks - Qd
    River Td - 4s - Ks - Qd - 5s

xen shows: Ac - As (a pair of aces)
Silentz shows: Kd - Kh (three of a kind, kings)

Silentz wins: EUR 96,75 (with three of a kind, kings)
    Rake: EUR 3,00

    ........... Suck out on him.

The result i am happy with and i know that's a 1 in 5. It's the folding preflop at low stakes to someone who may or may not (but probably does) have aces, after throwing E20 into the pot that bothers me.

    Silentz Raise (15,00)
    xen Raise (25,00)

this may be off topic, but that raising line doesn't make sense to me unless your poker room is weird.

and, this question has been asked and answered, what are you looking to hear.

actually what's interesting, it seems like over 50% of low level players will always MIN raise with AA/KK, they reraise you the munimum, that should send of a few alarms.
They do this because instincivley they know they are probably a favorate to win, they want you to stay in the hand.

If he reraised you a lot he may be protecting a hand like JJ, QQ, TT, AK, AQ etc...
On the contrary, they raise higher with these hands (especially the PP's) because they are afraid to see an A/K or some type of overcard on the flop.

All in preflop AA/KK is how most players go broke ( because its generally the correct play)

i mean because he raised by 11, then was reraised by 10. although maybe i'm misreading it.

Greed - i am playing a weird poker room. You don't choose what you want to raise it TO, you choose what you want to raise it BY. Horrible hand histories which you have to copy out of a web browser.

Fishy as a fishpond in fishguard though!

And yes, this has been discussed loads but i really struggle to deal with it...

    it seems that:
getting all in with KK preflop is the right tactic
unless you are 100% sure they have aces
but even then... its usually good to push because when are you ever sure!?

I know KK is 4:1 dog
I know most people lose their stacks with KK vs AA

I suppose the idea is trust your read, fold if you are sure, otherwise stick it in and jiggle it about

Yeah I'd say it's pretty safe to pin him on AA here. A limp/minraise followed by *another* minraise overtop of your big raise screams strength. Unless he's a maniac I cry and fold them

yea, i figured that's what the HH said, but then i was trying to figure out how it added up to 49 (your stack) and i got confuzzled.

Most everyone feels, just push them everytime. Personally, I don't, i will fold them under the right circumstances. asking for an answer to the question is pointless, everyone feels differently, you're smart enough to decide on your own, until you have a lot of experience though, and probably poker tracker, i would just push them every time.

after i get like 100000 hands in pokertracker, i'm hoping to be able to look back and see myself having folded kings maybe 15 times, and lost preflop AI to aces 5 times. If i see that i've lost to aces AI preflop 20 times, and folded 20 times, then i will know i am screwing the poodle.

right... okay so basically there isn't a 'generally accepted wisdom' type thing?

i just feel from time to time that there must be something i've not fully learnt when i have kings vs a suspected aces.

    TY for the replies.

It depends on your reads as well. If the guy is a semi-maniac (or if you suspect he thinks *you* are a maniac) he might try the same thing with AK, JJ or QQ. But that would be a pretty rare case IMO.
