Is it ever correct to fold in this situation?

Reads on NoRushes - Very laggy...poker officestats shows he has a preflop raise of 23,7 %. So his preflop raise dosn't scare me that much, and i'm getting tired of his raises. So I planed on just reraising him out if the flop was raggy, or perhaps get lucky and hit my set.

Okay, so my question is, is it ever correct to fold on the river after he reraised me? I did actually put him on pp Jacks, cause it makes perfect sense with his check on flop after his preflop raise. However I did call, cause can't he have a hand like AJ? But then again what hands would make a move like that on the river? ...after I make a reraise like that.
The most likely hands he can have I think is PP Aces, PP Jacks or AJ, and the only hand I can beat is AJ. So would it been right to go with my intuition here and actually fold?

No, you cant fold this river; however, that doesnt mean Id play the ahnd the same way.

Preflop is fine. Id bet that flop, raise the turn and then the only remaining bet [if there was one] is a push.

You are putting your opponent on waaay too tight of a range here. I dont really think AA is likely, why would AA check that flop but bet the turn when they make a set? Why arent AK or AQ options here? And in your original read you said he has a PFR of 23%, there is no way those are the only hands you could put him on here. Id add A7, A9 and Im sure there are some other random hands he could also have. Against a weak-tight player who you have a read will only go this far with a set, then yes fold, but here against this opponent you cant fold.

Also, use the FTR card emoticons or a hand converter, otherwise the hands are really hard to read. And dont include the results.

2) don't ever think you're not getting stacked against a guy who raises >20% of his hands here. It's a bad thought to have.

This is a hard fold - I don't know if I could make it. Although it must be said, if he's truly that LAggy, his check on the flop is suspicious as hell. This type of player is almost always looking to win the pot early, so I get nervous when they do something other than that. I pretty much agree with the previous post - play this faster and you'll get your money in anyway, and lose here anyway. I'd bet 1/2 pot behind him on the flop and raise if he led the turn. If he check-raised the flop the money is going in before the turn without a doubt.

You should have gone broke earlier than the river.

I however still think it was right to check the flop, because eventhough his check seemed odd, most of the time he probably checked because he missed. And my cold call preflop may lock like a small PP, and if he raised with Ax or KJ or whatever, he might slow down being scared of a reraise. So with a flop like that with no draws and a strong hand like that, by just checking against an agressive player, I might be able to a) indjuce a bluff on turn b) make him hit a secondbest hand by giving him the free card.

However I think you are right about the turn...that's were I should've raised and gotten the money in.
