Default KK - horrible flop and turn. Good fold?

    PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em, $0.50 BB (6 handed) FTR converter on zerodivide.cx

    UTG ($53)
    Hero ($49.50)
    CO ($9)
    Button ($4.75)
    SB ($159.80)
    BB ($14.20)

Preflop: Hero is MP with K, K.
UTG raises to $1, Hero raises to $3.5, 2 folds, SB calls $3.25, 1 fold, UTG calls $2.50.

    Flop: ($11) 8, 6, 9 (3 players)
SB checks, UTG checks, Hero bets $9, SB folds, UTG raises to $18, Hero calls $9.

    Turn: ($47) A (2 players)
UTG bets $31.5 (All-In), Hero folds.

    Final Pot: $78.50

Ok; my reason for folding on the turn rather than the flop; I wanted to see the turn (heart?) and see what his action is. To me this felt like a flopped set rather than the flush (9s?)... thoughts?

Very tough hand to laydown, but it's not invincible and I felt I was behind with only about 10 outs. Should I have folded on the flop? Comments on my play please

Easy turn fold. I doubt you are ahead at this point. The reraise on the flop...well, that's tough since he called that raise preflop. Of course you know you really should have layed it down on the flop. Unless you know this player to make such a bluff, it's not worth proceeding unfortunately.

Addendum. The reason I said fold the flop is I've been getting killed in those situations lately. But even when I relook at it now, seeing the turn is very very tempting. I think the flop call is OK.

    Lol, it was very tempting...

okokokok, I'm sorry, I may be spewing out naive advice but

I would have reraised all-in after he raised you, Especially if I had a large bankroll. That K of hearts will net you a flush some of the time if he does have the set and decides to call. (which would be a bad call of course)

The thing is, he raised the min before the flop under the gun (like he wanted to get some money in) then called your reraise. after the flop, he check raised you. I, in this situation would probably lose all of my money, because it looks like he may have AA with an A of hearts. I don't know he would push that hard with the nut flush of the flop, so He probably has a drawing hand, and possibly already had you beat before the flop. Good laydown I say.

AhAx isn't pushing that turn IMO.

I think he's on a set and c/r-ed you for value, or he's sitting on Ah9x

I'd just get it all in on the flop. It's a big pot and I'm not really sure where you're at, but I think you're good here a lot. Partiuclarly given that it's 6 max.

Otherwise, it's a big guessing game.

    JJ?
    AhX?
    Some sort of connector?
    Air?

He must have put you on the ace of hearts, a hand like AQ or AK, and he thought you hit your ace and would call his bet. I personally feel he has trips, and the A saved you a lot of money.

Fair point Tom. What if say that A hadn't come out and a 2:spades: came out instead and he still came out firing with an AI bet? Would we then still assume he has the trips and is worried about the flush? How often am I ahead here?
